NEET SS 2024 in March 2025! NBE notifies Tentative Schedule

New Delhi- The National Board of Medical Examinations (NBEMS) has notified the tentative schedule for the National Eligibility and Entrance Test-Super Specialty (NEET SS) for the academic year 2024. In this regard, recently NBEMS published an official notice on its website.

The official notice stated, “Pursuant to the approval of the Post Graduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB), National Medical Commission, vide its letter dated 12.09.2024 and in compliance to the orders dated 14.08.2024 of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, the tentative schedule for conduct of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) – Superspecialty is being notified”.

As per the tentative schedule, NEET SS 2024 is scheduled to be held on March 29 and 30, 2025. However, the final NEET SS 2024 schedule and information bulletin will be released soon on the official website of NBEMS.

Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that the top court bench directed the NMC to announce the schedule of NEET SS exam. The Court also held that the exam must be held within three months from January 2025.

A group of thirteen doctors had filed the plea before the Apex Court under Article 32 of the Constitution challenging the NMC's decision of not holding NEET-SS exam for 2024. 

The NEET SS 2024 information bulletin will contain the complete eligibility criteria, fee structure, exam scheme and other details for the candidates regarding the said exam.

The notice further informed that in case candidates have any queries/clarifications/assistance, they may write to NBEMS on its communication web portal.

NEET-SS is an eligibility-and-ranking test for admission to various DM, MCh and Dr NB super speciality courses. This exam is conducted online for a duration of 2.5 hours or 150 minutes. Candidates are being evaluated based on a total of thirteen groups or super specialist subjects from which they will select their paper groups during the application process. The question papers are arranged in such a way so that there is no clash with the exam dates or timings.

The National Board of Examinations (NBE) was established in 1975 in New Delhi. It is an autonomous entity within the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. NBE conducts a few examinations such as DNB final (exit) examinations, Fellowship Entrance and Exit examinations, NEET-SS for admission to DM/Mch/DrNB superspecialty medical courses across India, etc.
