New MBBS Seats- 16 New Medical Colleges to Come Up in Bihar, Maharashtra
New Delhi: Bringing good news to medical aspirants, altogether sixteen new medical colleges are going to come up in Bihar and Maharashtra
Among these nine new medical colleges are expected to be set up in Bihar in the coming years and eight new medical colleges are likely to come up in Maharashtra.
While it may take two to three years for the medical colleges to come up in Bihar, it is expected that the classes would commence at Samastipur Medical College next year. Similarly, classes are expected to start soon at Saran Medical College.

As per the latest media report by Patrika, classes in Begusarai, Bhagalpur, Buxar, Madhubani, Sitamarhi, Siwan, and Jamui medical colleges are expected to commence in two to three years.
This year, Maharashtra received permission from the Central Health and Family Welfare Ministry for eight new medical colleges with an intake capacity of 800 government MBBS seats.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that already this year, two medical colleges in Mumbai and Nashik received permission to start MBBS admission at 50 MBBS seats. Eight more medical colleges are now going to be set up in Amravati, Washim, Jalna, Buldhana, Hingoli, and Bhandara.
Similarly, MBBS seats are likely to increase in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh as well. 17 new medical colleges have been established this year in Uttar Pradesh, which has a plan for 'One District, One Medical College." Recently, the Prime Minister virtually inaugurated the foundation of five new medical colleges. Among them, three medical colleges are in Madhya Pradesh having an intake capacity of 300 MBBS seats.
Earlier this year, lamenting that middle-class students are forced to go abroad to pursue medical education, the Prime Minister had announced on Independence Day that 75,000 more medical seats would be added to the seat matrix of the country over the next five years.
