New Private Medical College in Karnataka gets NMC permission for 150 MBBS seats

The Board has permitted the institute, which is a part of Karavali Group of Colleges, to admit MBBS students in 150 seats.

Sponsored and managed by G R Education Trust, this institute has a 330-bed hospital attached to it. The hospital has 30 beds for emergency medicine as well including Green Category, Yellow Category, Red Category along with 60 ventilator beds in ICU, ICCU, NICU, PICU and Obstetric HDU/ICU.

Further, the hospital also has Pre-Operative beds, Post-Operative beds, Labour beds, Eclampsia and Septic beds.

The G R Medical College Hospital and Research Centre provides 24 hours Casualty services. Besides, the college has several facilities in the campus including Blood bank, Central Lab, Pharmacy, Radiology Department, Ambulance service, Anatomy Lab, Physiology Lab and Biochemistry Lab, Separate Boys and Girls Hostel.

Deccan Herald adds that the medical college has all the facilities for running an MBBS course as per the norms set by Rajiv Gandhi University and NMC, the apex medical education regulatory body in India.

Currently, Karnataka has the highest number of medical colleges in the State. In 60 medical colleges of Karnataka, the intake capacity for MBBS admission is in 9345 MBBS seats, revealed the data provided by MoS Health Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar. Among these, 2900 MBBS seats belong to the Government run medical colleges, whereas 6445 MBBS seats are in the Private Medical Colleges of the State.
