NMC releases provisional seat matrix for PG medical, SS courses- Check out branch-wise breakup

New Delhi: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has released the provisional seat matrix for postgraduate (MD/MS/Diploma/DNB) and superspecialty (DM/MCh) medical courses across India for the academic year 2024–25, listing a total of 54,855 seats in medical specialities.
For NEET PG and NEET SS aspirants, this data highlights the distribution of seats in core specialties such as General Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Anaesthesiology, and Pediatrics, among others. In addition, the NEET SS seat data provides insights into advanced training opportunities in super-specialties such as Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Endocrinology, Surgical Oncology, and more.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that the National Medical Commission (NMC), released the state-wise lists of MBBS, PG medical and Super Speciality seats available across all medical colleges in the country. According to the NMC data, the highest number of MBBS seats are in Karnataka, while the most medical colleges are currently operational in Uttar Pradesh. Releasing the lists, the NMC has asked the concerned medical colleges to report any discrepancies to the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) within the deadline for immediate rectification. Failure to report the discrepancy can impact the updating of seats, the NMC warned the medical institutes.
