NMC Warning: MBBS from PoK Medical Colleges not entitled for registration to practice medicine in India
New Delhi: Through a recent notification, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has declared that any qualification obtained from the medical colleges situated in Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh shall not entitle a person for grant of registration to practice medicine in India.
Last year in August, the erstwhile Board of Governors in supersession of the Medical Council of India (MCI BoG) had warned against the MBBS courses at PoK based medical colleges strictly declaring that the degrees from those institutions are not recognised.
Referring to the aforementioned MCI's notification with respect to the security clearance for the purpose of issuance of eligibility certificate to Indian students for admission in medical colleges in Pakistan, the NMC has arranged to give wide publicity of such information again for all the concerned students and various stakeholders.
