Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University Begins Registration Process For Common Nursing Entrance Test 2023, details

Uttar Pradesh: Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University (ABVMU) has begun registration process for the Common Nursing Entrance Test (CNET) for the academic session 2023-24. The courses included are MSc Nursing Course (2 Years)/ Nurse Practitioner in Critical Care [NPCC] (2 Years).

The detailed schedule –

1. Last Date of Application - 18th May 2023 (Thursday 6:00 PM)

2. Admit card available online from - 25th May 2023 (Thursday)

3. Entrance Examination - 4th June 2023 {Sunday 11.00 AM to 2.00 PM (180 Minutes)}

4. Place of Examination - To be intimated on Admit Card

5. Date of Result Declaration - To be announced on the website

Application forms should be filled out online mode only. No application Form will be received by post or any other means. Application forms for Common Nursing Entrance Test (CNET) for admission to MSc Nursing / NPCC Course (2 Years) for the academic session 2023-24 are available on the University Website www.abvmuup.edu.in. Only filled and submitted application forms will be accepted.

Candidates must ensure that the Email address and mobile number provided in the online application form are their own and /or parents/guardians only, as all information/communication will be sent through Email to the registered email address or SMS on the registered Mobile Number only.

Registered login credentials (Email/Mobile) and Registration Id will be used for all communications and will be required for obtaining the Admit card, Result, Counselling details, Allotment Letter, etc. Candidate should register from personal email ID, mobile number only and Registration No. should not be shared with any other person for security purposes.

Candidate should note their Registration Id & Date of Birth. Candidates must check and ensure that all information and details filled in by them are correct. No Change in the application form will be possible after the final submission of the application form.

Candidates for the entrance test will have to pay a fee of Rs. 3000/- for Unreserved/Other Backward Classes (UR/OBC) and Rs. 2000/- for SC/ST/PwD. The examination Fee shall be submitted online after the successful online candidate registration. Once the fee has been submitted, there shall be no fee refund. The fee is non-transferable for any other examination.

Eligibility Criteria –

The minimum age for admission is 17 years on or before 31st December 2023.

MSc Nursing -

1. The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered midwife or equivalent with the State Nursing Registration Council of Uttar Pradesh state (UP Nurses and Midwives Council).

2. If the candidate is a Registered Nurse and Registered midwife or equivalent with any State Nursing Registration Council outside Uttar Pradesh state, they will be eligible if Indian Nursing Council recognizes their institution/college.

3. The Minimum education requirements shall be the passing of BSc Nursing/BSc Hons. Nursing/Post-Basic BSc Nursing with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks.

4. Minimum one year of work experience after Basic BSc Nursing.

5. Minimum one year of work experience before or after Post Basic BSc Nursing.

Nurse Practitioner in Critical Care (NPCC) Nursing Course –

1. The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered midwife or equivalent with the State Nursing Registration Council of Uttar Pradesh state (UP Nurses and Midwives Council).

2. If the candidate is a Registered Nurse and Registered midwife or equivalent with any State Nursing Registration Council outside Uttar Pradesh state, they will be eligible if Indian Nursing Council recognizes their institution/college.

3. The minimum education requirement shall be passing BSc Nursing/BSc Hons. Nursing/Post-Basic BSc Nursing with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks.

4. Minimum one year of clinical experience after Basic BSc Nursing, preferably in any critical care setting.

5. Minimum one year of clinical experience before or after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing, preferably in any critical care setting.

The Common Nursing Entrance Test (CNET) is being conducted for –

Centres for Common Nursing Entrance Test (CNET) will be available in the following cities –

8. Ghaziabad

9. Gonda

10. Gorakhpur

11. Jhansi

12. Kanpur

13. Lucknow

14. Meerut

15. Mirzapur

17. Prayagraj

18. Saharanpur

19. Varanasi

Exam Details –

1. Venue: As mentioned on the admit card.

2. Mode of Examination: MCQs - Objective/Multiple Choice response Questions to be answered on Optical Mark Reader Sheet (OMR sheet) using a black ballpoint pen provided at the Centre.

3. Number of Questions: 200

4. Marks: Every single correct response will get 01 mark each. No Negative Markings for incorrect responses and/or more than one response.

5. Medium of Examination: English

6. Reporting Time: 9:00 AM (Two hours before start of the Examination). No Entry at the examination centre will be allowed after 10:15 AM.

Minimum Qualifying Marks –

1. General - 50th percentile

2. General- PwD - 45th percentile

3. C/ST/OBC- 40th percentile

The candidate must ensure that the Question Booklet, the original OMR answer sheet & office copy of the OMR sheet are handed over to the invigilator before leaving the Examination Hall. Failure to do so will be taken as Unfair Means.

Admit Cards –

1. Admit Cards will be available online & can be downloaded through the ABVMU website – www.abvmuup.edu.in through individual logins by the candidate using their Registered Id Number & Date of Birth.

2. The candidate must appear for the Examination at the allotted Centre on the Date and time indicated in their Admit Card.

3. The candidate should take a coloured printout of the admit card.

4. The Admit Card will not be sent by post.

5. Candidates are advised to preserve their Admit Card in good condition for future reference.

6. Digital format of the Admit Card will not be accepted at the Centre.

Reservation Policy –

1. Reservation as per the State Govt. under the reservation policy and within the sanctioned number of seats by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and not above it.

2. Any change in reservation policy will be followed as per the Uttar Pradesh State Government directives.

3. Reservation for disability (PH): 5% Horizontal reservation will be considered for disabled candidates with a disability of loco-motor to the tune of 40% to 50% of the lower extremity, and other eligibility criteria for qualification will be the same as prescribed for Unreserved (UR) category candidates. (The Gazette of India No. 275, dated 05th July 2021).

4. A Committee will be formed by the University consisting of the medical officer authorized by the Medical Board of State Government and a nursing expert in the panel, which may decide whether the candidate has a disability of loco-motor to the tune of 40% to 50%.

5. Caste Certificates issued only by the competent authority (Tehsildar) of the Uttar Pradesh Government are acceptable.

6. EWS quota of 10% may be admissible as per directives of the UP Government from time to time. A valid certificate issued by a competent authority (Tehsildar) of the Uttar Pradesh Government shall be required for counselling.

7. Valid OBC certificate issued on or after 1st April 2023 will be acceptable.

8. Valid EWS certificate issued on or after 1st April 2023 will be acceptable.

9. Dependent Freedom Fighter certificate issued from District Magistrate will be acceptable.

10. Valid Ex-Servicemen certificate issued from competent authority will be acceptable.

11. Valid NCC certificate “C certificate with grade B” issued by an authorized battalion on the prescribed format for NCC will be acceptable.

12. Reservation for Minority Educational Institutions will follow Govt. of UP norms/ directives.

Result –

The date of the declaration of results of the Entrance Examination will be announced on the official website of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University, Lucknow (www.abvmuup.edu.in).

The merit list will be prepared from the marks obtained in the Entrance Examination. A combined merit list and category-wise merit list will be drawn.

The inter-se-merit of candidates for tie-breaking –

In case of two or more candidates obtain equal marks in the CNET 2023 -24, the inter-se-merit shall be determined as follows –

1. Candidate obtaining higher marks in Section A of the Entrance Examination followed by

2. Candidate obtaining higher marks in Section B of the Entrance Examination followed by

3. Candidate obtaining higher marks in Section C of the Entrance Examination followed by

4. Higher Age (Older)

Counselling Procedure –

1. Online counselling shall be done by ABVMU, UP, Lucknow, and dates will be announced on ABVMU, UP website after the Result declared result. The list of Colleges/ Universities running the M.Sc. Nursing /NPCC courses will be notified during counselling.

3. Details for counselling will be available after the declaration of the result 

Admission –

1. The selection and allotment of the college shall be made by merit list based on M.Sc. Nursing/NPCC Course Common Entrance Test-2023 and counselling.

2. The candidate who has qualified for admission to the M.Sc. Nursing/NPCC Course shall deposit the prescribed fee on the date notified by the University. Those who fail to do so will lose their claim for admission to the course.

3. Candidates will have to join the course within the specified period.
