Faridkot: Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) has invited online applications for admission to the BSc Nursing Post Basic Course session 2023.

Detailed schedule –

FOR NRI & FOREIGN NATIONAL CANDIDATES: Applications for NRI seats in Government/University/Private colleges shall have to be sent to the University after obtaining an eligibility certificate from the University by 06.07.2023. NRI & Foreign Nationals candidates are not required to appear in the entrance test. NRI & Foreign National candidates have to obtain an eligibility certificate & apply on the prescribed Admission application form. For detail visit NRI Corner at Vacant

An error in filling out the online application form may result in the rejection of such an Application Form. Corrections in the information given by the candidate in the online application form may not be permitted after the lock of the application form as the last date of submission of the application form.

Application fee - Rs. 3000/- +18% GST+ Counseling fee Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 4540/-). For SC candidates Rs. 1500+18% GST Rs.1770/- + Counselling fee Rs. 1000 (Rs. 2770/-).

The fee can be remitted to the University account through a payment gateway available on the university website. The fee shall not be accepted in any other mode. The candidates who will not deposit the requisite application fee will not be considered for PPBNET-2023/admissions. The fee once deposited in the University account shall not be Refunded/Adjusted in any case.

Candidates must retain the following documents with them as reference for future correspondence -

1. At least three printouts of the online submitted application form.

2. Proof of fee paid

3. 3 copies of the latest identical colored Photograph with the date (taken after 01-01-2023 & should be passport size with white background) that scanned and uploaded on the Online Application form.

COBSE (Counsel of Board of School Education in India) grants membership to boards/institutions that are set up by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature or by an Executive order of the Central / State Government and broadly follow the National Curriculum Framework/CBSE. Therefore, candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from member boards of CBSE are acceptable for admission. A complete list of members-boards of CBSE can be downloaded 

SC category candidates are entitled to a scholarship from the Department of Welfare, Govt. of Punjab if they fulfill their terms and conditions. SC category candidates, whose family/guardians' income from all sources does not exceed Rs.250000 during the last Financial Year, are entitled to post-matric scholarship as per guidelines of Govt. of India and the Punjab Govt. The candidates will have to submit Freeship Card along with an admission application form. For details regarding this scheme/forms/procedure, respective colleges/candidates should visit the website of Punjab Govt., Deptt. of Medical Education and Research  and University website  For any query/clarification, candidates/respective colleges can contact the office of the Director, Medical Education and Research, Punjab, Chandigarh, or the Director, Welfare Deptt., Punjab, Chandigarh.. It is also the responsibility of the concerned candidate to ensure that has filled his/her application for the scholarship is filled in time.

Eligibility and qualifications –

Eligibility and qualifications will be as per Punjab Govt. Notification No. 5/21/2013-5HB-III/Spl. dated 28-08-2021.

NRI candidates –

The qualified candidates who seek to apply for NRI quota seats, have to obtain a provisional Eligibility/equivalency certificate from the BFUHS, Faridkot and will have to apply in the prescribed format available on the university website along with the prescribed fee for NRI seats.

Counseling schedule –For ascertaining the eligibility relevant documents including foreign Country passports Green Cards or Permanent Resident Cards or Proof of Residency of a Foreign Country issued by a competent authority or OCI/PIO Card issued by the Government of India shall be taken into consideration.

The admission under the NRI category shall be strictly according to preference category-wise merit as per Punjab Govt. notification/instructions. After selection, the candidate will be required to deposit the prescribed fee as per instructions.

The following is the procedure for admission under the NRI Category –

Application form for issuing of Eligibility/ Equivalency certificate is available in the Admission Branch BFUHS, Faridkot, and can be downloaded from the University website

Seat –

2430 seats are sanctioned intake seats for admission to Post Basic BSc (N) course for the session 2023-24 across 77 colleges. 305 seats are there where INC suitability has not been obtained. 630 seats are affiliated with University. 355 seats have obtained the status of INC suitability. The detailed lists are enclosed in the notice below.

Summary of exam –

Scheme of test -

The Test shall have one paper consisting of questions in General Nursing and Midwifery. The candidate will be required to find out the correct answer and mark it on the Optical Mark Reader (OMR) Response Sheet by darkening the corresponding oval against the serial number of the question with a black fine-tip ball pen only provided by the university at the time of the test.

There will be no negative marking for wrong answers. However, for security reasons, the fifth oval has been introduced. In all un-attempted questions, the fifth oval must be darkened otherwise if all ovals are left blank then that question shall carry one negative mark. Hence it is in the interest of the candidate not to leave all ovals blank in any question and one oval has to be shaded out of the five

Mode of the test –

The test will be of objective type with multiple choice questions and candidates will be provided with a sealed Question Booklet and an OMR Response Sheet. Each question will be followed by four responses marked (A), (B), (C), and (D). Of these four responses, only one will be the correct or the most appropriate response.

The candidate will write with a black fine-tip ball pen, the required information regarding Roll Number, Name, Question Booklet No., Question Booklet Set etc. on the Test/Question Booklet before opening the seal. Candidate must write the Sr. No. and Set of the Question Booklet carefully on the OMR Response sheet and the OMR Response sheet number on the question booklet and Both the OMR Response sheet number & the Question Booklet No. on the roll number counter slip sheet and the attendance sheet.

Language – English

Centers for the conduct of PPBNET-2023 - The test shall be conducted at the centers decided by the University. The city/cities, center/centers shall be intimated by the University.

Declaration of result –

After all the Question Booklets and OMR Response Sheets are received by the university the evaluation shall be done using OMR machine. After evaluation, the result shall be declared Rankwise, Roll No. wise and category-wise. The Ranking shall be solely based on the result of PPBNET-2023 and shall not be valid for admission. This Ranking will be drawn to give an approximate idea to the candidate about his/her relative position only based on PPBNET-2023.

The result will be declared within the date specified in the schedule. The result will be available on the University website. The result so declared and Ranking so drawn shall be made known to each candidate by an official gazette, copies of which shall be available at the office of the University at Faridkot and the University's website

5. Download/print individual result cards.

Round 1 –

All PPBNET (qualified / appeared ) candidates will submit online preferences of colleges/categories through University website

Allotment of seats as per merit cum preferences given by candidates.

Upto 21-07-2023

Candidates, to whom seats will be allocated, will report to the college for joining, checking of documents/eligibility, Medical Checkup, and deposit fee through an online

payment gateway available at the University website.

Colleges will submit a List of candidates who have not reported to the college/ineligible

candidates/candidates who surrendered their seats after their Joining through email at nursingadmissionsbfuhs@gmail.com

The schedule of 2nd round of online counseling will be intimated through the University website.

The procedure of online counseling and joining the colleges –

1. Counselling for admission to Post Basic BSc Nursing Course, session 2023 will be conducted online. The candidates will submit online choices/preferences of Colleges, categories, etc. through the university website

2. The seats will be allocated as per the PPBNET-2023 merit/eligibility criteria as mentioned in the Punjab Government notification in order of preferences given by the candidate, therefore, candidates are advised to submit preferences/choices carefully.

3. After the provisional allocation of seats, candidates can download the provisional allocation letter from the University website after login into their account and reporting to the respective allotted college along with all original documents for the checking of documents and their eligibility.

4. Merely, issuing of Provisional allotment letter does not confer any right to claim the allocated seat as their provisional allotment is subject to verification of documents and checking of eligibility as per terms and conditions of Punjab Govt. Notification/Prospectus.

5. If candidates are satisfied with the seats allocated to them during online counseling, they are not required to participate in the subsequent rounds of counseling. In case, candidates wish/intends to upgrade/change their seat/category then they will have to participate in the subsequent round of counseling by submitting preferences/choices afresh for the course/college/category/quota.

6. If candidates want to surrender/quit the course/seat, they will have to submit a written request to the Principal of the respective college for the surrender of the seat before the university will declare the vacant seats for the subsequent rounds of counseling so that resultant vacated seat can be added in the vacancy position of seats.

7. In case candidates are shifted /upgraded to their seat in the subsequent round of counseling then there is no need to deposit the tuition fee again but they have to deposit the difference in fee (if any).

8. During the 2nd round of online counseling, the candidates can fill the choices of colleges/category/quota as per their choice although which are not reflected in the vacancy position of seats because, during 2nd online counseling, any candidate can upgrade/shift seat as per their choice by vacating the already occupied seat of 1st counseling.

9. Some seats of reserve categories, NRI Quota seats, etc., may remain vacant after exhausting all candidates of respective category/quota, therefore, any seat of any college may be vacant in 2nd round due to shifting/conversion of seats.
