Puducherry: Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER) has begun registration process for Admission into BSc (Nursing & Allied Health Sciences) Courses Admission-2024-25 Academic Year.
All the interested candidates are advised to take note of the following details as released by the institute on its official website:

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE (BSc) COURSES DETAILS
The following Bachelor of Science (BSc) Courses (Undergraduate) are offered at JIPMER, Puducherry:
1. BSc Nursing
2. BSc Allied Health Sciences Courses
Duration of the courses:
BSc Nursing:
BSc Nursing is a full time 4 (Four) years degree course that includes 24 weeks paid internship.
BSc Allied Health Sciences Courses:
(i) Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Sciences is a full time 4 (four) year course with 3.5 years of theory & practical classes and 6 months of compulsory internship.
(ii) All other BSc Allied Health Sciences courses are full time 4 (four) years course with 3 years of theory & practical classes and 1 year of compulsory internship.
(iii) Details of the courses, facilities in the respective departments, opportunities for higher studies, and job opportunities after graduation are available on JIPMER website.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION TO BSc COURSES
1. The Applicant should be an Indian National
2. The applicants should have qualified in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) [NEET (UG) 2024] conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA).
He/she should have completed the age of 17 years (completed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December 2024), the year of his/her admission to the 1st year BSc Courses, i.e. they should have been born on or before 01-01-2008.
(Request for relaxation from the prescribed age limit will not be considered for any category of applicants).
There is no upper age limit.
The applicants should have passed the qualifying examinations in the manner mentioned below:
a) The Higher / Senior Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher / Senior Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of such study comprising Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Botany & Zoology (which shall include practical tests in these subjects) and with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training after introduction of the 10+2+3 educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education.
b) The applicant must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Botany & Zoology and English individually. Further, Candidates belonging to Unreserved / Economically Weaker Sections categories must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Botany & Zoology at the qualifying examination
c) Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribe or Other Backward Classes must have obtained a minimum of 40% marks in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Botany & Zoology taken together in the qualifying examination.
d) For PwBD candidates in Unreserved / Economically Weaker Sections categories, the minimum marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Botany & Zoology taken together in the qualifying examination is 45%.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR ONLINE APPLICATION
Application for admission to BSc Courses is through online mode only.

Read the prospectus and instructions carefully before starting the application process and be ready with the required documents / photograph / signature.
Registration:
Click the link in the Home page www.jipmer.edu.in and navigate to the link ‘JIPMER BSc (Nursing & Allied Health Sciences) Courses Admission-2024-25 Academic Year’ and start the registration process.
FULL NAME entered by the candidate in the application must match with his/ her XII Mark sheet. (Spelling and order must be same)
Candidates should give the same email ID and mobile number that were submitted while applying for NEET (UG) 2024.
Soft copies of the following documents should be kept ready before starting the online application process.
o Photograph
o Signature
o NEET (UG) 2024 Score card (Re-revised)
o OBC-NCL, SC, ST, EWS, PwBD and Puducherry UT domicile certificates, whichever is/are applicable

Candidate details
The candidates should fill the details carefully. No request for change in the details provided by the candidate in the application will be considered or entertained after submission of the online application.
Photograph
Softcopy of recent colour passport size photograph with light background is required. Black & White / Polaroid photographs are not acceptable. Name of the file: “Candidate Photograph.jpg” (e.g. Meera Photograph.jpg).
Photograph MUST have been taken on or after 01.01.2024.
Specifications of the photograph: Size of file: Less than 1 Mb in jpeg format.
Signature
Candidate must sign on a plain white sheet which should be scanned, cropped and saved as “Candidate Signature.jpg” (eg. Meera signature.jpg).
Specifications of the signature: Size of file: Between 20 Kb & 100 Kb in jpeg format.
Uploading Certificates:
Candidates should upload National Eligibility cum Entrance test (UG) [NEET (UG) 2024] score card (Re-revised).
Candidates belonging to categories other than UR & P-UR category should upload his/her caste/community certificate/Income & Asset Certificate.
Candidates belonging to PwBD category should upload his/her PwBD certificate.
Candidates belonging to EWS category should upload his/her Income & Asset Certificate in the format as mentioned in the Annexure - III
Candidate should scan the NEET (UG) 2024 score card, ID / Address Proof, Caste/Community/ Income & Asset Certificate/PwBD certificate (whichever is applicable) in PDF format only. The accepted size limit for each scanned certificate is less than 300 Kb.
Finalizing the application:
The process of submission of application online is completed only after clicking the ‘Finalize the application’ button after uploading candidate details, Scanned Photograph, scanned community/PwBD certificates/NEET UG 2024 score card as applicable, and scanned signature.
The candidates are advised to download a copy of their filled-in application. However, online application form will be sent to candidate’s registered email id once the application is finalized. Candidates should bring printout of the duly signed application on the day of certificate verification/ counselling.
Candidates need NOT send hard copy of the completed application to the Institute.
If the candidate finds an error of entry committed by him/her in the application after the submission, a fresh application should be submitted. The previous application will automatically stand cancelled. No E-Mail or Written communication will be entertained in this regard.
COUNSELING AND ADMISSION
Counseling for admission to BSc courses will be held in person at JIPMER. The details of counseling will be published on JIPMER website at the time of declaration of the eligible candidates list. Candidates are advised to periodically visit JIPMER website for updates.
Counseling:
Candidates on the published eligible list reporting at the counseling venue within the stipulated time and whose certificates in original are verified and found to be in order will be allowed to participate in the counseling. No new registrations will be accepted under any circumstances beyond 24.10.2024.
Seats will be allotted to candidates based on their choice, merit, and seat availability.
Admission:
On the same day of seat allotment, the following documents should be submitted, failing which admission will be denied:
- All the certificates in original (as given in the list below)
- Three sets of photocopies of all the certificates
- Six recent Passport size colour photographs
List of certificates to be submitted at the time of admission:
1. Valid Photo Identity proof.
2. Admit Card of NEET (UG) 2024 Exam issued by NTA.
3. Result/ Rank letter issued by NTA.
4. JIPMER Application form for BSc (Nursing/ AHS) Courses – Academic year 2024-25.
5. Proof of Date of Birth (X Std. Certificate or Birth Certificate).
6. Pass Certificate of the qualifying examination.
7. Statement of marks of the qualifying examination (XII Marksheet).
8. Character and Conduct Certificate from the Head of the Institute last studied.
9. Residence Certificate issued by Revenue Authority not below the rank of Tahsildar or Aadhaar card.
10. For candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes-NCL/ Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe: Community Certificate, obtained from the competent authority.
11. For Economically Weaker Sections (EWSs) candidates: required Income & Asset Certificate as in Annexure III.
12. Transfer Certificate from the Head of the Institution last studied / Migration Certificate
13. For candidates applying under Puducherry UT quota, Residence Certificate / Employer Certificate as in the Annexure IV
14. For PwBD candidates: Medical Certificate from the authorized-centres as listed in the NTA NEET 2024 Information Bulletin.
Admission to BSc courses is subject to verification of certificates and payment of fees as mentioned below:

Note: Submission of Documents and payment of fees as mentioned above should be done on the same day of allotment of seat.
PENALTY FOR LEAVING THE COURSE (MID – STREAM DEPARTURE)
A candidate can discontinue the course at any time on his/her request for any reason subject to payment of penalty amount as mentioned below. Any fees paid will not be refunded. Penalty mentioned hereunder has to be paid for relief and return of all original certificates submitted by him/her at the time of admission irrespective of the date of counseling/date of joining.
