It is advisable to choose as many discipline preferences as one would wish to consider for the first online counselling. The preferences should be selected within the date and time limits specified on the Important Dates Link. The steps of logging in and choosing the preferences should be done at least once before the mock counselling. The portal will remain open for selecting the courses only during the dates specified in the Important Dates link on the JIPMER website. Once the candidate has selected the choices, he/she can submit the registration for first online counselling. If the submission is not done, the system will automatically lock the choices at the end of the date/time period specified for entering choices in the Important dates link.

4. Verification of certificates: The uploaded certificates will be verified , and in case of any discrepancy, the candidate will be notified by email(through the registered email ID) and asked to re-upload those after necessary rectification. The candidates should re-upload all the necessary certificates within the specific time period. No additional time will be provided under any circumstances. If the candidates fail to re-upload the certificates within the specific time or if a candidate related to constitutional/ horizontal reservation is found to be invalid, the candidate will be considered only under unreserved category for the counselling procedures.

5. Mock counselling: The students will be allotted seats depending on the category wise merit rank order(as per the running Roster Point Reservation detailed n the prospectus) and the choice of courses selected. The seat allocation during mock counselling represents the seat that a candidate is likely to be allocated in the first counselling as per the choices given by the candidates. The seat allocated in mock counselling is NOT final and is subject to change with modifications made by the candidates in their choices/ preferences after the mock counselling and before the actual first counselling.

6. Locking final choice of preferences: After the mock counselling, each candidate will have another opportunity to edit/ reorder their choices before the first actual online counselling /seat allocation . However , once the preferences have been lodged, the course preferences cannot be changed for subsequent counselling sessions under any circumstances. Therefore, the candidates are requested to choose the preferences carefully and responsibility. Further, if a candidate does not make any changes in preferences after mock counselling, the system will automatically consider the preferences chosen before the mock counselling for the actual first and subsequent online counselling/seat allocation.

7. First Online Counselling/Seat allocation: The seat allocation will be done as per the schedule specified in the Important Dates Link in the order of category- based merit , roster point reservation and according to the final preferences provided by the candidates. The available seat of the highest preferred course will be allotted to the candidate as per category-based merit list and Roster Point Reservation.

8. Acceptance of the allotted seat: Candidates who are allocated seats in the first counselling are required to login to the B.Sc courses first online counselling/seat allocation portal and

ACCEPT the allotted seat within the date and time specified in the Important Dates link

An option to REFUSE the allocated seats is NOT available.

Therefore, the candidates are requested to fill the choices carefully and responsibly. Candidates will be solely responsible for the choices entered.

If a candidate fails to ACCEPT the allotted seat and complete the payment process within the specified date/time limit, the allocated seat will be forfeited, and the candidate will become INELIGIBLE for subsequent rounds of online counselling/seat allocation.
