CEE Kerala Invites Applications for Entrance Exam to MSc Nursing 2024 Admissions, All Details Here

Kerala- The Commissioner of Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala is inviting applications for the Computer Based Entrance Examination for admission to the MSc Nursing 2024.

CEE has invited applications for admission to MSc Nursing 2024 in government seats in Government Nursing Colleges in Thiruvananthapuram, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Kannur and various self-financed colleges. For 5 Specialties applications are being invited, they are-

i Medical Surgical Nursing.

ii Community Health Nursing

iii Child Health Nursing.

iv Obstetrics & Gynecology Nursing.

v Mental Health Nursing.

Interested candidates can apply through the official website of the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations till 26 July 2024. However, it is to be noted that the upper age limit should be 46 years for general candidates and 49 years for service candidates as on the date of notification inviting applications.

The Entrance examination will be a Computer Based Test of 2 hours duration with 200 Multiple Choice Questions. On this, CEE has released a brochure detailing the application process, fees, merit list, eligibility, etc. As per the brochure, below are the details of admission to MSc Nursing 2024.

HOW TO APPLY

All candidates including Service candidates seeking admission to the PG Nursing Courses 2024 should apply online from 18 to 26 July 2024 through the link ‘PG Nursing 2024-Online Application’ on the CEE official website. While applying online, candidates should upload the scanned images of his /her recent Photo, Signature in jpeg format, proof of Date of birth and Nativity proof in PDF format and all other eligibility certificates and documents. Print out of the Application Acknowledgement page or any other supporting documents need not be sent by post/or in person, to the office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examination.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

Applicants should have satisfied any of the following conditions-

1 Indian Citizen of Kerala origin.

2 Candidates, who are sons/daughters of Non-Keralite parents and have obtained B.Sc. Nursing degrees from any of the Nursing Colleges in Kerala State, but they will not be eligible for communal/PD Reservation benefits.

3 Candidates who are not of Kerala origin but have been a resident of Kerala for not less than five years. Non-Keralite applicants will not be eligible for communal/Persons with Disability (PD) reservation benefits.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS

1 Candidate should have passed the Bachelor's Degree in Nursing of Kerala, Calicut, Mahatma Gandhi, Cochin, Kannur Universities or Kerala University of Health Sciences or regular courses of other universities recognised by KUHS. Only candidates who have passed a regular BSc Nursing Degree program with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks will be eligible for admission.

2 Candidates who have passed the Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing of Kerala, Calicut, Mahatma Gandhi, Kannur Universities or Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) or regular courses of other universities recognized by KUHS, after acquiring General Nursing and Midwifery Course with +2 Science Subjects. Only candidates who have passed a regular Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing degree program with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks will be eligible for admission. (That with Distance/Correspondence Degree course is not eligible for MSc Nursing admission).

3 The candidate should have obtained registration with the Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council and a copy of the registration certificate is to be submitted at the time of admission. Candidates who have studied outside Kerala shall have to submit a copy of the registration certificate of the concerned Nursing Council of the state from where they have qualified at the time of admission. The selected candidates should produce their registration certificate originally obtained from the Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council at the time of admission.

4 Candidates who have passed B.Sc. Degree in Nursing/Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing (Regular Course) from Universities outside Kerala and any of the Deemed Universities should produce the equivalency certificate from any of the Universities in Kerala, at the time of counselling. SC/ST, SEBC and PD candidates should have a 5% Relaxation in academic eligibility marks.

5 Applicant should have completed one year of experience on the date of notification of inviting application in any 100 bedded hospital/Community Health Centre, as a Nursing Officer/Nursing trainee or as a Nursing Tutor/Clinical Instructor from a recognised School of Nursing /College of Nursing or CNS/Internship experience/MLSP/MLHP experience ‘‘after registration with the respective State Nursing Councils.

6 The experience of one year acquired by the candidates after registration from the respective State Nursing Councils within or outside Kerala, following successful completion of the BSc Nursing course will only be counted for experience.

7 The period undergone by a candidate for completing the Post Basic B.Sc Nursing Course will not be reckoned for experience. A minimum of one year of work experience before or after Post Basic B.Sc Nursing is essential.

8 Candidates have to upload the Certificate to prove their experience along with the online application.

ADMIT CARD

Admit cards of the candidates will be provided on the official website of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations before the Computer Based Test. The date of issue of the admit card will be announced later.

RANK LIST

The CEE Kerala will publish the rank list of qualified candidates who appeared in the Entrance Examination. Service quota candidates will have to qualify by securing 40% marks in the Entrance Examination to be included in the Service quota.

CATEGORY LIST

Total seats available for various Postgraduate Nursing courses in Government Colleges are categorised under State Merit Quota, Physically disabled quota, SEBC Quota, SC/ST Quota, Service Quota & EWS Quota. Total seats available in Self-Financing Colleges are categorised under Merit Quota, SEBC Quota, and SC/ST Quota. The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala will publish the category list of candidates including service quota.

ALLOTMENT

The allotment of seats including those under Service Quota will be made by CEE through the Centralised Allotment Process.
