JIPMER to hold counselling for MSc Nursing, Post Basic Diploma in Nursing Courses today, Check out seat matrix

Puducherry: Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER) released the date of the counselling schedule and the seat matrix for admission to MSc Nursing & Post Basic Diploma in Nursing (PBDN) courses.

The counselling schedule for the above-mentioned courses is scheduled for 24th August 2022. The candidates need to report at 9.30 am. The registration process will close at 10.30 am. The time for counselling is 2.30 pm. Candidates should be seated inside the counselling hall at 2:00 pm.

The counselling process –

1. The candidates will be called based on the reservation roster point and their merit rank.

2. Depending on the seat availability, candidates can Opt or Opt-Out the seat during their turn.

3. The seat allotted candidates should undergo medical examination on 25.08.2022 (Thursday) at 10:00 AM by the medical board duly constituted by JIPMER

4. Failure of a candidate to complete the due procedure of admission within the time specified will lead to forfeiture of the allotted seat.

5. The academic programs for MSc Nursing & PBDN commence on 1st September 2022.

The total number of seats available is 50 which includes both the above courses.

Detailed seat matrix -

1. MSc Nursing – 31

2. Post Basic Diploma in Nursing (PBDN) – 19

For MSc Nursing, the allotment of seats will be done through counselling as per the Roster Point Reservation as mentioned in Annexure-C. For Post Basic Diploma in Nursing, the allotment of seats will be done through counselling as per the Roster Point Reservation as mentioned in Annexure-D.

It is essential that the candidate has to appear in person for counselling. Representation of candidates by any other authorized person will not be permitted for counselling under any circumstances.

MSc Nursing Candidates must possess one year of completed work experience by 31st July 2022. The experience will be calculated after the date of registration in the state nursing council. Candidates opting for a seat in the first counselling should submit all the original certificates and pay the required fees on the same day 24th August 2022. All the original certificates listed overleaf must be produced for verification on the date of counselling.

Candidates who avail of any (constitutional OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD horizontal) reservation during the counselling process must submit valid original certificates of their claim for the reserved seat during the certificate verification process. If a candidate fails to submit a valid original certificate in support of the claim for a reserved seat, the candidate will be considered only under the unreserved category.

The OBC-NCL/EWS certificate must be valid for admission in Central Government Institutions, as detailed in the Institute Prospectus. Further, the OBC-NCL certificate should have been obtained on or after 31st July 2021. Candidates availing PwD horizontal reservation in the counselling must undergo a medical examination review by a medical board duly constituted by JIPMER. The decision of the JIPMER Medical Board will be final. If a candidate is found to be ineligible for a PwD reservation, the allotment of reserved seats will be cancelled.

The seat allotted candidates should undergo medical examination on 25th August 2022 at 10:00 pm by the medical board duly constituted by JIPMER. Covid-19 Vaccine 2nd Dose Certificate is mandatory for attending counselling.


List of documents required at the time of counselling –

1. Proof of Date of Birth (X Standard Certificate or Birth Certificate)

2. Consolidated Marksheet / Statement of marks of the qualifying examination (BSc Nursing)

3. Degree Certificate / Pass Certificate of the qualifying examination

4. Community Certificate (For OBC/SC/ST candidates only)

5. Economically Weaker Sections Certificate (For EWSs candidates only)

6. NOC from the Employer (If the candidate is currently working)

7. Experience Certificate

8. Permanent Medical Registration Certificate/ Nursing council registration certificate issued by State/Central Medical/Nursing Council (applicable for Medical / Nursing Graduates)

9. Medical Certificate in case of PwD Candidate.

10. Transfer Certificate / Migration Certificate

11. Course cum conduct Certificate

12. Covid-19 Vaccine 2nd Dose Certificate

13. Student Verification Form printout: All the eligible candidates (Annexure A & B) should fill out the student verification form by clicking the link given below and submit it before reporting to JIPMER: https://www.digialm.com//EForms/configuredHtml/827/68596/application.html A hard copy of the filled-in form should be produced on the day of counselling.

14. Score card downloaded through the link published on the JIPMER website on 1st August 2022.

15. Three sets of photocopies of all the aforesaid certificates/ documents.

16. Five passport-size colour photos without a placard.

MSc Nursing candidates should have at least one year of experience in a hospital or a College or in a School of Nursing or in a Community Health Program after BSc Nursing and registration with a State Nursing Council. The experience should be completed on or before 31st July 2022. (Ref. prospectus for more details).

PBDN candidates possessing a Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery should have one year of experience as Staff Nurse. The experience should be completed on or before 31st July 2022. (Ref. prospectus for more details). Experience Certificate is not mandatory for PBDN candidates possessing BSc in Nursing or equivalent degree.

Fee structure –

1. MSc Nursing - Rs. 14,910

2. PBDN - Rs. 11,910

Hostel accommodation for the seat allotted (outstation) candidates will be done on 30th August 2022 subject to availability. Seat allotted (outstation) candidates who need hostel facilities have to report to JIPMER, Puducherry at 10:00 am 30th August 2022 to complete their hostel admission procedures.

The candidates who have applied under the Non-Creamy Layer OBC Category and whose sub-caste is not listed in the current Central OBC List and whose Certificate has not been submitted in the prescribed format from the Competent Authority (OR) The candidates who have applied under SC/ST Categories WITHOUT valid Certificate as in the prescribed format (as in Institute Prospectus) from the Competent Authority (OR) The candidates who have applied under EWSs category without a valid certificate as in the prescribed format (as in Institute Prospectus) at the time of counselling will be treated as Unreserved candidate and they will be considered only under UR Category as per their merit.
