Raipur: While considering the plea by a doctor who was declared to be ineligible for appearing in the PC PNDT Competency-Based Examination 2022 for his lack of requisite training from a recognized institute, the Chhattisgarh High Court has allowed him to appear in the examination scheduled to take place on May 23, 2022.

Although the bench allowed the candidate to write the exam, it has clarified that his results would not get published until the next hearing of the case and the final decision would depend on the basis of the result of the writ petition, reports TOI.

The matter has been listed for further hearing on June 20.

The concerned doctor is a medical practitioner having his registration with the State Medical Council in Chhattisgarh. Apart from being a registered medical practitioner, the doctor also claimed to have completed his requisite training in Ultrasound with registered institute. In fact, the experience certificate in this regard was issued to him.

However, when the doctor applied for appearing in the Competency-based examination, after evaluating the application form submitted by the doctor, the concerned authorities declared him to be ineligible. Challenging this, the doctor approached the High Court with a writ petition claiming that the stand of the authorities declaring him ineligible was not sustainable.

On the other hand, the counsel for the State submitted before the HC bench that the experience certificate that the doctor had annexed with the writ petition was not issued by a recognized institute and therefore, the concerned authorities were right to declare him ineligible for appearing in the Competency based exam scheduled on May 23, 2022.
