Hyderabad: The Telangana Medical Council conducted a significant raid on Sunday, uncovering 20 persons posing as doctors. This operation represents a crucial step in upholding the integrity of healthcare services in the region.
The raids, led by Telangana Medical Council (TGMC) Chairperson K Mahesh Kumar and Vice-Chairperson Dr Srinivas Gundagani, covered multiple areas such as LB Nagar, Saroornagar, Musarambagh, Vanasthalipuram, and Shaheed Nagar. These inspections were part of a broader initiative to ensure that only qualified and certified individuals can practice medicine in the region.
The TGMC has announced that legal action will be taken against the accused individuals under Sections 34 and 54 of the National Medical Commission (NMC) Act, 2019. These sections address the illegal practice of medicine and related offences, emphasizing the seriousness of the charges against the fake doctors. The TGMC’s enforcement of this Act highlights its commitment to upholding these standards and protecting public health.
