Bhopal: In an unfortunate incident, a 27-year-old female doctor allegedly committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling at her residence in Bhopal.

According to the police, the reason behind her death is unknown and will only be determined after a postmortem report and a forensic investigation into her mobile phone, which has been seized to obtain details regarding the incident.  

During the preliminary investigation, the police found no suicide note at the scene.

As per a Free Press Journal media report, the incident came to light at around 8 pm on Tuesday when her family found her hanging from the ceiling. After taking her down from the noose, they rushed her to JP Hospital. However, the doctors declared her brought dead. 

After the police were informed, they reached the spot and sent her body for a postmortem. After this, they handed over her body to her family for the last rites.

A case has been registered in this regard, and an investigation is underway. Police said that after receiving the postmortem report, they will decide the points of investigation. 

Medical Dialogues recently reported four consecutive cases of suicide involving medical students and doctors. The first case involves a junior resident and first-year postgraduate student from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at AIIMS Patna. The second is a first-year MBBS student from the Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS).

The third is a 26-year-old first-year postgraduate student from the Department of Anatomy at Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Government Institute of Medical Science and Research (VCSGGMC), Srinagar, Uttarakhand. The fourth case involves a second-year postgraduate trainee from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital (FAAMCH), Barpeta.
