3 Kashmiri Doctors honoured with Pankoshmia Talents of Healthcare Professionals Awards 2022

Chandigarh: Three doctors from the Kashmir valley bagged the top awards at the Pankoshmia Talents of Healthcare Professionals (PTH) Awards 2022, a significant Summit and Awards for the healthcare industry in India, which was held in Chandigarh on Saturday. 

The three doctors have been identified as Prof. Dr Ajaz Ahmad Shah, Dr. Adil Malik and Dr. Humaira, who received the awards from the chief guest, Dr Avnish Kumar, Director Research and Medical Education of Govt of Punjab.

The award for 'Life Time Achievement Award in Oral and maxillofacial surgery' have been conferred to Dr Ajaz Ahmad Shah who is the Prof & HOD Oral and maxillofacial surgery at Government Dental College in Srinagar. 

The 'Scientific Services Achievement Award' have been conferred to Dr Adil Rasool Malik, a senior dental surgeon, health and medical education department Jammu and Kashmir. And, the 'Outstanding oral health promoter Award' was conferred to Dr. Humaira Bhat, who is a dental surgeon. 

In the speech, Prof Dr. Ajaz Ahmad Shah thanked the jury and stated how the award would encourage them to work with zeal and dedication which is a recognition for his teachers & mentors in the field as well. Dr. Shah's work has enabled drastic change in the field of advanced Maxillofacial surgery as he was responsible for introducing maxillofacial facial surgery in Jammu and Kashmir and is a pioneer of Temporo-mandibular joint, Maxillofacial trauma and dental Implants

The work of Dr Adil Rasool Malik focuses on spindle cell lesions and has classified the spindle cell lesions, which is a first-of-its-kind work. Dr Malik is responsible for this classification, and his contribution towards various other scientific studies has been a source of appreciation by various other experts. 

Dr. Bhat has become a very dedicated oral health promoter at a very young age. 

This Summits and Awards was started by Society for Scientific Research & Studies (SSRS) to promote quality health care by encouraging youth and pioneers in the healthcare industry and scholarly world and is a significant event marking the healthcare industry. As per a media report in the Kashmir Observer, it is also a platform that brings together decision-makers, community leaders, innovators and influencers from the government industry, the non-profit sector and all other stakeholders to address the opportunities and challenges for the improvement of health based outcomes in India.
