Gwalior: Facing the allegations of manhandling the City Superintendent of Police (CSP), around 30 junior doctors belonging to Gwalior based Gajra Raja Medical College have now been booked by police.

While recently the students claimed that the policemen had assaulted them after an altercation, Police on the other hand have claimed that the doctors were found in an inebriated state when they allegedly manhandled the CSP and physically assaulted his gunmen.

Medical Dialogues had recently reported about this incident where the medical students of the Gwalior based medical college allegedly had to face violence in the hands of the Police itself.

However, as per the latest media report by the Free Press Journal, police on Thursday informed that the junior doctors had allegedly manhandled the CSP and physically assaulted his gunmen. Therefore, Gwalior Police have lodged an FIR against altogether 30 doctors of the Institute.

It has further been claimed by the police that the junior doctors had allegedly confiscated the phone of the IPS officer and did not returned it for a long time. This forced the policemen for thrashing them. In fact, a video in this regard has gone viral on the social media as well.

While the students had earlier brought allegations of violence against the police officers, the version stated by the Policemen is quite different in nature. FPJ adds that as per the version stated by ASP Mrigakhi Deka, CSP Meena had noticed the youths in a drunken state near the medical college at around 2 am when he was on his patrolling duty.

Noticing the police car, the students had allegedly left the place and swiftly drove towards the college hostel. However, following the students, CSP Meena reached the hostel. Thereafter, the students had allegedly surrounded the officer, manhandled him and snatched away the keys of his car along with his mobile phone.

In fact, it has further been alleged that some of the students had deflated the tyres of his car, physically assaulted his gunman and dragged him inside the hostel.

When the CSP alerted the control room, a team of police officers reached the campus, started discussing the matter with the students and asked them to give back the mobile phone and the car keys to the officer. However, the students failed to do so and therefore the policemen barged into the hostel and thrashed the students, ASP Mrigakhi Deka told FPJ.

Around 30 such students have been booked under Sections 353, 332, 294, 424, 336, 147, 148 and 149 of the IPC, he further informed.
