67-year-old doctor attacked by 2 assailants over family dispute
Ludhiana: In a shocking incident, a 67-year-old Registered Medical Practitioner (RMP), was allegedly attacked by two assailants who posed as patients inside his private clinic in Lakshmi Nagar. The victim said that the attackers assaulted him and threatened him to withdraw a court case he had filed against his family members related to a property dispute.
According to the medical practitioner, the incident occurred on January 30 when he returned to his clinic after lunch. Upon entering, he found two unknown men seated inside, pretending to be patients. After administering an injection to one of them, he turned to prepare medication near a cupboard. At that moment, both men suddenly attacked him, restraining and assaulting him without warning.

During the incident, the assailants reportedly threatened the medical practitioner demanding him to withdraw the case he had filed against his wife, daughter, and a relative over a property dispute.
Following the attack, he managed to seek help and was rushed to Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) for treatment, where he is currently being treated for his injuries.
The medical partitioner in his complaint accused his wife and daughter of allegedly hiring the miscreants to intimidate him and force him into withdrawing the case. Based on the complaint filed the Haibowal police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
Speaking to Hindustan Times, the head Constable Surinder Kumar, who is investigating the case, confirmed that the Haibowal police have launched an investigation and are making efforts to identify and arrest the accused. An FIR under Sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt),126 (2) (wrongful restrain), 351(3) (criminal intimidation) and 3 (5) (the criminal act is done by several persons in furtherance of the common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been registered against the accused.
