Delhi: All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has announced the schedule of online institute allocation, choice filling details, eligibility criteria, and final seat position for admission to DM/MCh/MD Hospital Administration courses of INIs for the July 2023 session.
Schedule for 1st round of online institute allocation –
1. Exercising of choices (institute against applied subject/specialty) for the first round - 03.06.2023 (11:00 AM) to 06.06.2023 (05:00 PM)
2. Announcement of institute allocation of 1st round - 09.06.2023
3. Online acceptance of allocated institute - 10.06.2023 (11.00 AM) to 16.06.2023 (05.00 PM)
4. Reporting & Submission of Documents/Security Deposit - 10.06.2023 (11.00 AM) - to 16.06.2023 up to (05.00 PM)
Schedule for 2nd round of online institute allocation –
1. Announcement of institute allocation of 2nd round – 11.07.2023
2. Online acceptance of allocated institute - 12.07.2023 (11.00 AM) to 19.07.2023 up to (05.00 PM)
3. Reporting & submission of documents/security deposit - 12.07.2023 (11.00 AM) to 19.07.2023 up to (05.00 PM)
Schedule for 3rd round of online institute allocation –
1. Announcement of institute allocation of 3rd round - 25.07.2023
2. Online acceptance of allocated institute - 26.07.2023(11:00 AM) to 31.07.2023 up to (05:00 PM)
3. Reporting & submission of documents/security deposit - 26.07.2023 (11:00 AM) to 31.07.2023 up to (05:00 PM)
The candidates note that the schedule for online registration participation in the on-the-spot admission round (if needed) will be informed on the website separately.
Eligibility –
1. Eligibility criteria as per INI-SS Prospectus Part-A & Part-B, including any notices published, have been applied considering the information provided by the candidates in the online registration form.
2. As per Result Notification No. 81/2023 and 82/2023 dated 29.05.2023, candidates will be eligible to participate in the 1st round of the online institute allocation. This shall be subjected to fulfilling the eligibility criteria as mentioned in the prospectus/notices published on the website www.aiimsexams.ac.in.
Procedure –
1. The eligible candidates must register on the INI-SS Online Institute Allocation portal. The link for the Portal will be activated only for eligible candidates on MyPage. Candidates can log in using the credential for filling out the application form and completing other processes related to INI-SS Entrance Examination for July 2023.
2. The INI-SS Online Institute Allocation portal will allow candidates to make choices of the institute (a combination of institute against applied subject/specialty) as per their eligibility. The candidate can arrange the choices in desired order preference. There is no limitation on the number of choices (Institutes) the candidates can make. The choices can be edited and reordered within the date and time specified in the Important Dates link in the Portal.
3. The Portal will remain open on dates specified in the Important Dates link in the Portal. The choices made by the candidate will be locked either by the candidate OR will be automatically locked on the last Date and Time as specified in the Important Dates link in the Portal.
4. All the candidates who have been allocated Institutes in the 1st round are required to login to the INI-SS Online Institute Allocation portal and actively choose one of the following options within the date and time specified in the Important Dates link –
Option 1 - ACCEPT allotted Institute and DO NOT WISH TO PARTICIPATE in further rounds of Institute Allocation.
Option 2 - ACCEPT allotted Institute and WANT TO PARTICIPATE in 2nd ROUND of Institute Allocation
5. If the candidates choose option-2 and participate in 2nd round and are allocated another Institute as per their choice in 2nd round, they will have to join the institute allocated during 2nd round. The institute allocated in the first round shall be considered vacated, and the same shall be automatically allocated to other candidates in order of merit. Failure to join the upgraded institute shall lead to impositions of the penalty of Rs. 3.00 Lakh.
6. Option to REFUSE the allocated Institute is NOT available. Therefore, the candidates are requested to fill in the choices carefully and responsibly. Candidates themselves shall be responsible for their choices.
7. Failure to log in and select an option after Institute allocation within the date and time specified in the Important Dates link will lead to forfeiture of the allocated institute and render the candidate ineligible for further rounds except for open/spot round of institute allocation (if any).
8. All the candidates who are allocated institute are mandatorily required(irrespective of whether they choose Option 1 and 2 as mentioned in point no. 4) to report in person (for reporting and/or joining) or through an authorized representative (for reporting), to allocated institute within the date and times specified in the Important Dates link. The candidates must deposit original certificates or a security deposit of Rs. 3.00 Lakh as notification of the Institute allocation of the 1st round at the time of reporting.
Foreign national candidates –
1. The Institute allocation will be done in order of merit and according to choices made by the candidates as described in point no 2.
2. The candidates will be eligible to exercise of choices of institute only as per the applied subject filled in the online registration form and eligibility as per information provided therein.
Sponsored candidates –
1. The institute allocation will be done in order of merit and according to choices made by the candidates as described in point no 2 against seats published in the respective categories as per applicable rule.
2. In case any discrepancy is found in online data with the sponsorship certificate, valid information in the sponsorship certificate will be accepted as per eligibility criteria.
3. The candidates are eligible to exercise of choice of institute only as per the applied subject in which sponsored institutes are available and issued by the respective competent authority received at the Examination Section AIIMS, New Delhi,, within specified dates.
4. If the NOC has been received in place of the sponsorship certificate, the Institute allocation will be done as per the subject/institute available in the online registration.
5. If the subject is not mentioned against the candidate's name in the sponsorship certificate, no allocation will be done for that institute.
6. All allocation of sponsored candidates will be done based on the institute available against the applied subject mentioned in the sponsorship certificate/online registration for the July 2023 session.
7. Only one best institute available at that rank will be allocated during online Institute allocation.
8. The admission process will be done per the procedure available for other candidates.
AIIMS has further announced that those who have not been allocated any Institute in the first round of Institute allocation, allocation will be done in the second round of institute allocation as per their choice in order of merit if they follow the guidelines given in the Information brochure of 2nd round of institute allocation.
Upper age limit –
AIIMS New Delhi & other AIIMS (As on 1st July 2023): The age validation for Courses of AIIMS New Delhi & other AIIMS under INI-SS for the July 2023 session –
1. General Category- 35 Years (Candidates Born on or after 01.07.1988 are eligible)
2. Sponsored Category'- There is no age limit for Sponsored Category
NIMHANS, Bangalore (As of 1st July 2023) – The age validation for Courses of NIMHANS under INI-SS for the July 2023 session –
1. General Category- 37 Years (Candidates Born on or after 01.07.1986 are eligible)
2. Sponsored Category'- There is no age limit for Sponsored Category.
SCTIMST Trivandrum (As on 1st July 2023): The age validation for Courses of SCTIMST under INI-SS for the July 2023 session –
1. General - 40 Years (candidates Born on or after 01.07.1983 are eligible)
2. Sponsored –There is no age limit for Sponsored Category
PGIMER, Chandigarh (As on 1st July 2023): The age validation for Courses of PGIMER under INI-SS for the July 2023 session –
1. General Category- 45 Years (Candidates Born on or after 01.07.1978 are eligible)
2. Sponsored Category'- There is no age limit for Sponsored Category
JIPMER, Puducherry (As of 1st July 2023): There is no age limit for any category.
All disputes pertaining to the conduct of the INI-SS by AIIMS, New Delhi, and Online Institute Allocation / Counseling will be subject to the jurisdiction of the High Court of Delhi only. The 2nd round will be initiated after the completion of 1st round.
Online institute allocation process –
1. Only the eligible candidates (Result Notification No. 81/2023 & 82/2023 dated 29.05.2023) can exercise their choices (Institutes) for online Institute allocation.
2. The link to access the online Institute allocation portal will be activated in the "MyPage." The candidate should log in using the login credentials they have used while the online application form for INI-SS for admission in DM/MCh/MD(HA) courses –July 2023session and other processes related to the conduct of the entrance examination. To retrieve the login credentials, click the Forgot your login details button on the Registration/Login Page.
3. On clicking the link, the eligible candidates will be directed to the online Institute allocation portal,, where the candidates will have to register for online Institute allocation and set a new password. This password is only to access the online Institute Seat allocation portal.
4. Once registered, the candidate can log in to the online PG Seat allocation portal, begin making choices (Institute and subject/specialty), and order the choices. The online PG Seat allocation portal will remain open for the date and time specified in the Important Dates link.
Choice filling process –
1. The choices can only be made after the candidates have registered and logged in using the new password for this Portal. On logging in, they need to confirm their name and candidate ID. Click the Make Choice button to proceed to exercise choices (Institute and subject/specialty) and their order.
2. To add a choice, choose the institute and the subject/specialty from the two separate drop-down menus and Click Add choice.
3. To remove a choice, click the Delete button against that Choice (Institute and subject/specialty).
4. Click the Save button to save the choices of institute and subject/specialty and their order.
5. The default order of choices (Institute and subject/specialty) will be the order in which the candidates have added choices (Institute and subject/specialty).
6. To reorder choices, use up and down arrows OR drag and drop the choice (Institute and subject/specialty) to the appropriate position in the list.
7. Candidates can make choices (Institute and subject/specialty), edit or reorder them as many times as they wish unless they have already submitted and locked the choices (Institute and subject/specialty) OR the last date and time for that round is over.
8. The candidate must save the choices (Institute and subject/specialty) in case they wish to add/delete/reorder them later (before the last date and time for that round).
Submitting and locking choices –
1. The candidate should click on the Submit and Lock Choices tab, tick the checkbox I accept the declaration, and click on the Submit and Lock choices (Institute and subject/specialty). They will be prompted twice to reconsider,, and after they have submitted and locked their choices (Institute and subject/specialty), you cannot change it for that round.
2. If the candidate has made and saved choices but could not submit and Lock choices, the last saved choices (Institute and subject/specialty) and their order will be automatically considered as submitted and locked choices (Institute and subject/specialty).
Viewing and printing the choices after submission –
The candidate can view the choices submitted and locked by them by clicking the View choices button after logging in to the online PG Seat allocation portal. Click Print button to take a printout.
Final seat position –
630 seats are available for INI SS July 2023 Session.

Details issued -
One seat in DM infectious diseases for AIIMS Jodhpur is reserved for candidates with MD/DNB in Microbiology, and one seat is reserved for candidates with MD/DNB in Medicine/Pediatrics/Tropical Medicine.
One seat in DM Cardiology is normally reserved for candidates with MD in Paediatrics or equivalent qualifications. However, in the absence of suitable candidates, the seat will be filled by candidates with MD in General Medicine. So, MD Paediatrics candidates may be admitted to general seats if found suitable.
The seats advertised under Sponsored Category will be available for allocation for candidates applying as Sponsored or Foreign National/OCI at AIIMS New Delhi & Six other AIIMS, SCTIMST. For PGIMER Chandigarh, NIMHANS, and JIPMER Puducherry, seats in the respective categories will be available only for candidates applying in the respective category.
If there are no applicants for MCH Neurosurgery under sponsored category in NIMHANS, The seat will be filled by the institute's stipendiary category of 'Post MS/DNB Category').
Seats are strictly non-convertible/non-interchangeable between different groups unless expressly mentioned per rules applicable at any participating INI.
Any seat remaining vacant in respective groups (General Seats, Sponsored Seats & Foreign National Seats) shall be filled subsequently as per rules applicable at respective INIs.
