CMO Bandipora Suspends Doctor Over Independence Day Absence
Bandipora: A government medical officer posted at the District Hospital Bandipora has been suspended for dereliction of duty and failure to participate in the Independence Day celebrations, according to an order issued by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Bandipora.
The doctor, posted as a Medical Officer at the District Hospital Bandipora, did not attend her scheduled duty on August 14. The CMO’s order noted that her absence adversely impacted patient care at the hospital.

According to the Observer Post, the order further stated that on August 15, despite clear written instructions, Dr. Salam did not attend the Independence Day celebrations and remained absent without any prior intimation or authorization. The CMO noted that her absence amounted to “disrespect and disregard for a National Event” and showed “indiscipline unbecoming of a Government servant.”
