Trichy: In a shocking incident, a doctor in Trichy was defrauded by his caretaker, who allegedly stole gold jewellery worth Rs 2.9 lakh from his home.
According to the news reports, Dr. P. Balaji, who works at a private medical college in the city, had employed the 28-year-old caretaker, a resident of Ranjit Nagar, around three months ago to look after his ailing father. The arrangement reportedly continued smoothly until late October, when the doctor’s family noticed that several pieces of jewellery had gone missing from their home.
