Chennai Doctor Harassed After Rejecting Proposal; Swimming Coach Arrested for Obscene Video
Chennai: A 39-year-old swimming coach was arrested by the city police for allegedly uploading an obscene video of a woman doctor on social media after she rejected his marriage proposal.
The victim, a 30-year-old post-graduate medical student from a city medical college, became acquainted with the suspect during her swimming sessions. The two initially developed a friendship, but over time, the accused began expressing romantic feelings for her. He repeatedly asked her to marry him, despite her clear rejection.
According to the police sources, he reportedly created a fake Instagram profile and uploaded an obscene video of the victim, intending to tarnish her reputation. The victim, deeply distressed by the violation of her privacy, took swift action and lodged a complaint with the Rajamangalam police.

As per the recent media reports by the Hindu, Rajamangalam police registered a case and arrested the suspect, P. Balaji, 39, of Triplican, and seized three phones from him. He was remanded to judicial custody after being produced in a court.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the case to gather more information regarding his activities. The incident has once again raised concerns about cybercrime and the use of social media for harassment and revenge.
