Compulsory bond service for PG, SS reduced from 5 years to 2 years in Rajasthan

The corresponding penalty for failing to fulfil the bond conditions remains the same as before at Rs 25 lakh.

The move will bring this good news for NEET PG candidates this year as well as the ones from previous years as it is effective for all candidates of the academic year 2019-2020 and beyond.

As per the recent notification issued by Vaibhav Galriya Principal Secretary to the Medical Education Department, Govt of Rajasthan, it is mandatory for all candidates of PG and SS in all government medical colleges of the state to do a compulsory bond service. The duration of the same will now stand at 2 years rather than 5 years which was set before.

The notification adds that those performing compulsory bond service can work as senior residents at state-run medical colleges, assistant professors at state-run medical colleges (after completion of senior residency), and junior residents and senior demonstration at government medical colleges and hospitals.

The students will be allotted various posts by the respective department 2 months prior before the completion of the PG/ SS courses.

The allocation of the various candidates against respective vacancies shall be made by the Directorate of Medical Education.

The candidates will be allocated to ad-hoc posts at medical colleges, PHCs, CHCs based on their merit in respective examinations (NEET PG and NEET SS).

The notice adds that for the same, the DME shall constitute a counselling board which will be taking out an advertisement informing about the vacancies while meeting the reservation criteria.

The notice further added that the PG and SS candidates after 1-year completion of the course become eligible to be posted as an assistant professor.

If a candidate after completing their PG course, gets selected for super specialization, they will be provided admission into SS course for which then he/she shall serve for 2 years after the completion of the SS course.

If a candidate does not want to serve, they will have to pay the bond penalty of Rs 25 lakh.
