Jhansi: In a tragic incident, a dentist in Jhansi was found dead at his residence after allegedly hanging himself from a ceiling fan in the residential complex of Bundelkhand University.  

The deceased lived in the university’s staff quarters with his wife, a professor at Bundelkhand University. The incident took place within the university’s residential complex, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Nawabad police station

According to the sequence of events, the doctor had breakfast with his family on Monday morning. His two children left for school, and around 9 am, his wife departed for her duty at the university. Sometime after she left, he allegedly made a noose from a rope and hanged himself from a ceiling fan inside the house.

As reported by Bhaskar English, the incident came to light when the household maid arrived and found the door unresponsive despite repeated knocking. Neighbours were alerted, and the wife was informed. Even after she returned, the door remained locked from inside, prompting those present to break the mesh of the gate to gain access.

Police were informed, and officers from the Nawabad police station reached the spot. The body has been taken into custody, and an investigation has been initiated to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the death.

Medical Dialogues had earlier reported another shocking incident involving a doctor from Karwar district who allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with a double-barreled gun at his residence. He was reportedly under severe mental distress after facing online criticism over an unverified viral video.
