Doctor at Kerala General hospital found dead, suicide note recovered

Pathanamthitta: In an unfortunate incident, a Casualty Medical Officer at Pathanamthitta General Hospital committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling in his rented room in Punnalathupadi on Wednesday. The reason behind his suicide is unclear. 

The doctor has been identified as the medical officer of the casualty department who worked for three years at the general hospital. He was a native of Kaimanam in Thiruvananthapuram who rented the room here due to his work at the hospital.

It came to light that the doctor had played football with his fellow doctors at an indoor stadium until 10 PM the night before he committed suicide. The incident took place on Wednesday when his fellow doctor friend visited his room in the early morning to serve him breakfast.

However, the friend discovered that the door was locked from the inside and even after repeated calling, the doctor did not respond. He then immediately informed the house owner as the door was not opened even after a long time. 

After a brief time passed by, they decided to call the police. Upon their arrival, the police broke the door and found the doctor hanging from the ceiling, reports the Kaumudi.

While conducting a preliminary investigation, the cops recovered a suicide note that said, "I failed in all ways," The note was hand-written and attached to the room wall. An inked palm mark was also found on the wall.

Although the police found the suicide note in the room, the reason for his sudden attempt is unclear. 

A case has been registered by the police and an investigation is underway. 

The doctor's sudden death shocked his friends and colleagues at the hospital, who mourned his loss.
