Doctor brutally murdered by dietician for allegedly touching him inappropriately

New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a middle-aged Delhi doctor was allegedly brutally murdered with a knife and scissors by a 23-year-old male dietician at his residence in the Chattarpur Enclave area. The attack followed an incident where the doctor allegedly inappropriately touched the dietician during a visit to deliver a diet subscription. Police have arrested the accused in connection to the case.  

As per police statements, the doctor's body was found in a room with blood scattered on the floor indicating a violent altercation. He was lying in the room with his neck deeply cut, suggesting that his throat had been slit.

The accused who confessed his crime during interrogation alleged that he initially strangled the doctor, then attacked him with a knife and scissors from the victim's kitchen and fled from the scene.

The incident came to light when the police received information regarding a body lying in a house in South Delhi's Chattarpur Enclave area. The victim was identified as Dr Mohanty from Odisha living here. 

An altercation erupted between them when the doctor who was planning to get a diet plan called the accused to his house. After reaching, the doctor reportedly tried to touch him inappropriately which made the accused scared. In fear, he allegedly grabbed the kitchen knife and scissors and attacked the doctor. 

Speaking to the Indian Express, a police officer said, “Dr Mohanty was looking to get a diet plan for himself and called Sunny to his house… Yesterday, Sunny came to the doctor’s flat in Chattapur Enclave. Sunny has claimed that the doctor tried to physically touch him." 

“Scared, Sunny ran to the kitchen and grabbed a knife and a scissor… and slit doctor’s throat before fleeing the house… On checking the phone of the deceased, it was found that he had made his last call to Sunny. He was then tracked and arrested from Maidangarhi,” the officer added.

During the interrogation, the accused confessed to his crime and explained the exact situation regarding how he allegedly killed the doctor. The accused is currently in police custody. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
