Doctor couple cheated of Rs 41 lakh in promise of MBBS admission for daughter at GMCH Nagpur

The three accused have been identified as Sachin Kashyap, Shrikant, and Chandrashekhar Atram and were booked based on a complaint filed by the couple identified as Dr Shilpa Dhekle and her husband Suresh.

According to the police, Kashyap got in touch with the doctor couple by acting as a career counselor, in 2019. Pretending to be an expert, he promised to help their daughter get admission at the MBBS College, Kerala.

Eventually, he told them that he had secured admission for their daughter at GMCH in Nagpur and asked them to visit Nagpur to give him Rs 41 lakh in return for the same. The cash was allegedly received by Shrikant and Chandrashekhar from the couple.

Following that, the trio switched off their mobile phones with no information related to the admission at GMCH in Nagpur, as promised to the couple. The couple went to the police station to file a complaint against the three after realizing that they have been cheated. Police eventually registered a case and booked the the three, reports Times Now.

The Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported about a fake MBBS admission racket after students from many states like UP, Bihar, Delhi, Maharashtra, Karnataka, etc, were duped in promise of MBBS seats at renowned medical colleges in India in return for money. The members in the racket used to allegedly source the data of the NEET aspirants online and sent them fabricated messages in the name of the Medical Council of India, the apex medical body.
