Doctor hangs self in Prayagraj, Nursing officer, brother booked for abetment
Lucknow: Following the death of a doctor who allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself, the police have booked a government nursing officer and her brother on the charge of abetment of suicide.
The accused were booked based on the suicide note left behind by the doctor who held them responsible for his death. He mentioned in the note that both of them harassed and blackmailed him after he refused to marry the nursing officer.
Acting on the suicide note, the George Town police registered a case against the nursing officer and her brother under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) section 306 (abetment of suicide). Following this, the investigation is on to nab the accused in connection with the case.

The 30-year-old doctor who was posted at a government hospital in Rae Bareli ended his life at his friend's house in Prayagraj’s Allapur area Thursday. It came to the fore, that he was subject to constant harassment and blackmail from the woman and her brother which led him to take the extreme step.
Grieving the loss of their son, the family members stated that there was a long-standing relationship between the doctor and the nursing officer.

The shocking incident was discovered by his friend who stepped out of the house for a few hours and saw the doctor hanging from the ceiling fan after he returned home.
Talking about the incident, his father informed The Indian Express, "He visited Prayagraj and stayed at his friend Jitendra Gupta’s house in the Allapur area. From his friend’s house, he informed me over the phone that he had reached Prayagraj and after buying a few articles he would come home Thursday morning. I last spoke with Subhash Wednesday night."
“Thursday morning when I found Subhash’s cellphone switched off, I called Jitendra to check. When Jitendra reached home around 9 am, he found his house locked from inside and several knocks on the door went unanswered. Jitendra then peeped inside the house through a window and found Subhash hanging from a fan. He immediately informed me and the police about it. We rushed to his residence," his father added.
