Dr Hrishikesh Pai takes charge as President, FOGSI

Dr. Hrishikesh Pai, President - FOGSI, 2022–2023 said, "I am deeply honored to have been selected to serve as the President of FOGSI. It will be a privilege to work towards the betterment of women's health and to advocate the cause of their reproductive health and rights. Today, digital healthcare is throwing open new dimensions in the delivery of care and I look forward to working with my fellow specialists to ensure that we are always up-to-date with the latest advances in obstetrics and gynecology for the benefit of our patients. Together, we will also ensure that we contribute to critical policies impacting women's health through collaboration and consultations with the Government."

New Delhi: Dr Hrishikesh Pai, one of the leading gynecologists and amongst the pioneers in the field of infertility treatment in India was today announced as the 61st President of FOGSI, the Federation of Obstetric and Gynecological Societies of India.

FOGSI is a professional organization representing practitioners of obstetrics and gynecology in India with 262 member societies and over 37,000 individual members spread across the country.

Dr. Hrishikesh Pai, Founder and Medical Director of the Bloom IVF Group, is one of the earliest gynecologists in India to foray into the world of ART in 1991 and has introduced many innovations in the field. He is also a leading teacher and academician and has many articles and research papers published in national and international books and journals.

Dr. Pai also launched "Badlaav" – CSR Campaign focused on advocacy for all aspects of women's health. The concept is defined by the Integration of information, Equality in treatment, and Technology to be accessible for all. It will consist of "Nari Swasthya Janandolan Yatra – Anemia National Ride" in 5 states and "Badlaav Clinics" for free health examination of women on the 18th of every month. This initiative will emphasize on respectful maternal care, enhancing vaginal birth, breastfeeding, fertility preservation, genetic screening, infertility treatment, vaccination, anemia and nutrition, cancer screening, NCDs (diabetes, hypertension, cardiac disease, Vitamin D, thyroid), PCOS, endometriosis, routine health checkups, contraception, MTP, sexual dysfunction, heavy periods, mental health, gender equality, midlife/menopause, obesity, and anti-aging.

Dr. Hrishikesh Pai has been honored with over 55 awards including the IMA Special Award to Eminent Medical Men for Distinguished Achievement of the Highest Order 2020-21 by the National Indian Medical Association. Dr Pai is also the recipient of the prestigious Fellowship Endeum FRCOG from the Royal College of Obstetrics & Gynecology, London, UK.
