Dr MS Bhutani takes charge as president of IMA Jalandhar
Jalandhar: Dr MS Bhutani assumed the role of the President of the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Jalandhar during a ceremony held at a private hotel on Wednesday night. At the event, Dr. Bhutani also introduced the newly appointed members of the IMA team.
Dr Puja Kapoor has been appointed as the new Secretary, Dr H-S Bhutani has taken over as the Finance Secretary, and Dr Harish Nanda has been appointed as the Press Secretary of IMA, Jalandhar.
Dr Bhutani has taken over the position of Dr Deepak Chawla who was serving as the President of IMA, Jalandhar. He is a renowned paediatrician with 36 years of experience and he is associated with Bhutani Children's Hospital in Jalandhar City.
The newly formed team announced the creation of various committees to enhance the association’s functioning and promote healthcare initiatives. The event was graced by prominent dignitaries, including chief guest Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal, Deputy Commissioner of Jalandhar, alongside Dr CS Pruthi, President of the Punjab Medical Council, and Dr Jasmine Dahiya, Vice President of PMC, reports The Daily.
A significant highlight was the unveiling of the ‘IMA Booklet 2025’ by Dr. Bhutani and DC Aggarwal. Additionally, the launch of the ‘Bowls’ Healthy Recipe Book,’ authored by Ayesha Bhutani, added a unique touch to the evening. The ceremony witnessed an impressive turnout, with over 350 doctors from Jalandhar in attendance, making it a memorable and inspiring evening for the city’s medical community, reports The Tribune.
In his address, Dr. Bhutani outlined the association's vision for the year ahead. Key initiatives include programs focused on the development and education of the girl child, environmental projects like tree plantation and water conservation, efforts to reduce pollution, and awareness campaigns on cancer prevention.
IMA Jalandhar is one of the Leading Branch of IMA Punjab. This branch is one of the most active branches of India both locally and at the state and national levels. It has been the torch bearer in many agitations held for the betterment and security, of services of its members.
