Dr Rajeev Kumar Sharma takes charge as Director Health Services Jammu
Jammu: Dr Rajeev Kumar Sharma has taken over the charge as the Director Health Services, Jammu, on Monday.
Dr Tabasum Jabeen has been given the additional charge of the post of Director Family Welfare, Maternal and Child Health (MCH) and Immunisation, J&K. Earlier, he served as the Deputy Director AIDS Control Society, J&K.
An order issued by the Secretary of the Health and Medical Education Department, Government of Jammu and Kashmir IAS Bhupinder Kumar on 22nd May 2023 stated “In the interest of administration and patient care, it is, hereby, ordered that these doctors shall look after the charge of these posts in addition to their own duties till further orders.”
Dr Sharma is the new Director of Health Services, Jammu. Earlier, he was posted as Deputy Director of Health Services at headquarters in Jammu.

Dr Rajeev Kumar Sharma joined as Assistant Surgeon in Health Department. He has done a Master of Surgery (MS) in ENT.
Dr Rajeev Kumar Sharma served the department in various other capacities as Medical Superintendent at Government Hospital Sarwal and as Chief Medical Officer at Reasi.
“This arrangement in respect of the doctors is purely on a temporary basis and subject to the outcome of writ petitions, if any, pending before the Courts of law and shall not confer any right upon the officers to claim preferential treatment at the time of regularization or placement or promotions which shall be made strictly in accordance with the rules,” the order reads.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that Dr Nowsheen Zaffar had been appointed as the Deputy Medical Superintendent at Government Medical College (GMC Jammu). The doctor has been appointed on probation for two years. An order has been issued by the Civil Secretariat, Jammu/Srinagar, Health & Medical Education Department, Government of Jammu and Kashmir on 1st May 2023.
