Jamnagar: In a shocking incident, a female doctor recently came forward with accusations of sexual harassment against a professor from the anaesthesia department at the government-run GG Hospital in Jamnagar. She accused the professor of inappropriate behaviour and filed a written complaint against him.

The matter has sparked controversy as allegations have emerged that senior officials, including the hospital dean, are allegedly shielding the accused instead of taking action.

It has been reported that despite multiple complaints from the Head of the Anesthesia Department, no steps have been taken so far. A copy of the complaint has also been forwarded to the department head, as per TV9 reports.

Speaking on the issue, the doctor revealed that she initially refrained from filing a complaint due to fears of academic repercussions during her residency. However, mustering courage, she has now officially raised the matter and filed a complaint against the professor. She has demanded that appropriate action be taken against the accused so that the interests of patients and PG residents are protected.

Meanwhile, the Dean of MP Shah Medical College has denied receiving any formal complaint of sexual harassment. However, he assured that an investigation committee will be constituted to look into the matter, and appropriate action will be taken based on the findings, reports ETV Bharat.
