Woman doctor accuses medical officer at Ayurvedic Hospital of sexual harassment

Hyderabad: A 49-year-old female in-charge superintendent has alleged sexual harassment by the medical officer of a Erragadda Government Ayurvedic Hospital, Hyderabad where she worked. Following this, the accused has been booked but is currently on the run.
According to the female doctor, the accused had been sending her inappropriate messages on WhatsApp for several days before escalating the situation further by misbehaving with her in her chamber.
The complainant originally deputed to the Government Ayurvedic Hospital at Charminar, was recently posted to the Erragadda facility as the in-charge superintendent.
The incident took place on February 17, when the medical officer allegedly entered her chamber and misbehaved with her, leaving her deeply shaken. Before the incident, the complainant alleged that the accused had sexually harassed her by sending obscene messages, reports TOI.
Following the incident, the doctor approached the Borabanda police station and filed a complaint. Further, she submitted the WhatsApp chats to the police as evidence.
S. Veerashekar, Station House Officer (SHO) of Borabanda, confirmed that an investigation is underway. “We are examining the available evidence, and further action will be taken accordingly,” he stated.
However, the accused is presently absconding.
