Her family alleged that she attempted suicide because of harassment by a senior doctor.

According to Ranganath, Warangal Commissioners of Police (CP) a doctor attempted to commit suicide by taking some injections. She is studying first-year PG at Kakatiya Medical College (KMC) in Warangal.

"She was last seen at emergency OP while she was on duty and later she left her room, informing other doctors that she's suffering from a headache and stomach ache. She was later found in an unconscious condition," he said.

As per a recent media report, TOI reports that on Wednesday, she sought permission to leave early, which was turned down by the senior. “She wasn’t even permitted to use the washroom,” the father claimed. “We received a complaint from the girl’s family. We need to probe the kind of harassment she underwent. We will question her colleagues and others who were privy to the issue,” said AV Ranganath, commissioner of police, Warangal.

She asked me not to complain to the college as she was worried her seniors would make her life difficult and ensure she got poor marks,” the father told TOI. He added: “Four days ago when she called to complain again, I informed the Mattewada police over the phone who then visited the college and told the principal, Dr D Mohan Das, about it. The student was counselled and asked not to harass my daughter. But, it did not stop.” KMC principal Dr Das confirmed that he was counselled after receiving the complaint.

According to KMC Superintendent, the student received cardiac arrest and the doctors team performed CPR which revived her. She has been shifted to NIMS, Hyderabad, for better treatment.

"She is suffering from multi-organ failure. We have set up a team to inquire into the matter internally and the police on other hand is investigating the matter. If allegations against the Senior PG doctor turn true serious action will be initiated," added the KMC Superintendent.

The father of the victim woman lodged a complaint stating that a senior PG doctor has been harassing her for the last few days and that's the reason she has taken this step. Police are inquiring into the matter from all angles.

Further investigation is underway.
