Former Ernakulum General Hospital doctor booked for second sexual harassment case

At the same time, the woman doctor who filed the complaint has made efforts to withdraw the complaint. It is reported that after sending the e-mail of the sexual assault complaint against the doctor, the complainant sent another e-mail message on Saturday evening asking him to withdraw the complaint, Mathrubhumi reports.

In the new e-mail message, it was said that she was not interested in proceeding with the case and wanted to withdraw the case. However, the police informed that the case could not be withdrawn as the case had been registered. The Central Police authorities have also clarified that only if the complainant cooperates, it will be possible to proceed with the case after taking her statement.

Medical Dialogues team had recently reported that a young female doctor filed a complaint of sexual assault against a senior doctor working at Ernakulam General Hospital. In 2019, during the house surgency, the doctor forcibly kissed her. Following this, Kerala Health Minister Veena George directed the Director of the Health Department to investigate the sexual assault complaint of the woman doctor.

The woman spoke about the sexual assault that she went through in her Facebook post when the accused was transferred from Ernakulam General Hospital after four years. Presently, the doctor is working at Aluva District Hospital.
