Haryana Cancels Doctors' Leave, Alerts Hospitals after Operation Sindoor
Hospitals in Haryana are on Emergency Standby
Haryana: As tensions between India and Pakistan continue to escalate, the Haryana state government has cancelled the leave of all doctors in both private and government hospitals and instructed them to remain alert. Hospitals have also been directed to reserve 25 per cent of their beds for emergencies.
This decision comes in the wake of Operation Sindoor, India’s ongoing military operation against Pakistan in response to last month's deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which left 26 tourists dead.
Medical Dialogues had previously reported that as part of a nationwide initiative led by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), hospitals across Delhi participated in a high-intensity mock drill on Wednesday to assess their preparedness for large-scale emergencies and emerging threats. Sirens blared, stretchers crowded hospital entrances, and instructions echoed over loudspeakers, creating an atmosphere of urgency as the capital joined the countrywide exercise.

According to India TV, 'Operation Sindoor' against Pakistan is still underway, while the situation at the border is changing rapidly, the Centre said during the all-party meeting called to brief the political parties about the ongoing conflict with the neighbouring country. The meeting, attended by leaders of major parties, was chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, during which Congress said they extended "full support" to the government.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh briefed all attendees at today’s all-party meeting, stating that, due to the ongoing nature of the operation and the evolving situation, the government is unable to provide further details at this time. During the meeting, Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, raised concerns about the absence of the Prime Minister. He also referenced media reports claiming that a Rafale aircraft had been shot down, noting that, despite these reports, the government had yet to make any official statement on the matter.

According to the news reports, as part of the operation Sindoor, India launched twenty-four cruise missile strikes targeting key locations across Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (POK), including Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Bahawalpur, and Rawalakot. The strikes are aimed at disrupting terrorist activities in these areas, which are believed to be key hubs for militant operations.
