Held guilty for raping 12-year-old in clinic, Bhadohi doctor sentenced to 20 years in Jail

Bhadohi: A special POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses) court held guilty a Bhadohi doctor for raping a 12-year-old girl in his clinic and sentenced him to 20 years of imprisonment.

Additional Sessions/Special Judge Madhu Dogra on Wednesday also slapped a fine of Rs 1,65,000 on the doctor, Special Public Prosecutor Ashwini Kumar Mishra said.

The accused worked at a hospital in the Kotwali area of ​​the city, had raped and molested the minor in his clinic on several occasions while the FIR was lodged on October 8, 2021, by the woman Mishra said. In the complaint, the woman alleged that the accused had committed obscenity with her daughter.

Ashwini Kumar Mishra told India TV that when the woman inquired about this, a young man showed the video of the incident, in which the doctor was seen doing a shameful act with the girl in his clinic. During interrogation, the girl told that the doctor used to call her to teach and give books and used to molest her. 

A case was registered in Bhadohi Kotwali under several sections, including POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses) court. The police sent the charge sheet to the court. On the basis of statements and witnesses, the doctor was found guilty. He was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment and fined Rs 1.65 lakh.

Police in its investigation found that the accused used to call the minor girl to teach her, he said.
