Claiming that he was holding a senior position in an online delivery company and citing family problems, the suspect gained her trust and collected Rs 25 lakh from her over a period of time. He also took 15 tolas of gold ornaments from the victim’s mother, reports the Telangana Today.

However, the situation took a disturbing turn when the doctor brought up the subject of marriage. The accused allegedly began threatening to leak her personal photographs on social media, attempting to manipulate and silence her.

Realising she had been deceived and was being blackmailed, the woman courageously approached the Alwal Police and lodged a formal complaint. Based on her statement, a case has been registered, and a detailed investigation is currently underway.

Cybercrime and online relationship scams have seen a concerning rise in recent years, with many victims being targeted through emotional manipulation and false promises.
