Distressed by the alleged harassment, the woman approached the police with the help of her parents. She lodged a complaint on October 8 at a police station in her hometown in Khammam district, Telangana. Since the alleged offences took place in Chevella, Rangareddy district, the local police registered a Zero FIR and transferred the case to Chevella police for further investigation, reports Deccan Chronicle.

The accused was arrested on October 10 and produced before a court, which remanded him to judicial custody. Police have also seized his mobile phone as part of the investigation.
