Sirsa: A 14-bed private hospital in Ratia town, Fatehabad district, was recently raided for operating and treating patients without any registration or approval from the health department. The hospital was found to have a fake doctor, untrained staff, and an unlicensed medical store.

Shockingly, the admitted patients were unaware of these illegal activities. Their lives were at risk, as neither the doctor was real nor did the hospital follow proper healthcare safety protocols and register with the government.

The crackdown was carried out by Health Officers Dr Pranav, Dr Praveen, Drug Inspector Dr Dheeraj Kumar, and local police officials, all part of the CM's flying squad formed to uncover illegal medical activities in the state.

During the raid, the team found five untrained staff members working as helpers for minimum monthly wages ranging from Rs 3,000 to Rs 7,000, including three girls and two boys.

The raid was conducted following a tip-off about unqualified persons treating patients at the hospital. Upon reviewing the files, the team found that the hospital maintained no patient records.

The doctor examining and treating patients was a Quack. He had no medical degree, and when asked, he informed the team that he was not connected with the hospital.

“When questioned, Joginder claimed that Dr Naresh Jindal was associated with the hospital. However, Dr Jindal denied any connection with the facility. A medical stamp in Joginder’s name was recovered from the premises, adding to the evidence against him," said the officials.

Further searching the area, the team found an unlicensed medical store stocked with a large quantity of medicines. The store had no registered pharmacist, and all medicines were sealed on the spot.

The team confiscated documents and records for verification and filed a police complaint in this regard.

Hisar Range in-charge Sunaina, who led the team, told The Tribune, "Running a hospital without a valid licence, qualified doctors, or trained staff is a criminal offence and strict action has been initiated. A formal police complaint has been filed and legal proceedings are underway."
