ACB Director General Govind Gupta stated that the Jodhpur city unit received a complaint alleging the bribe demand of Rs 3 lakh shortly after the CMHO (Jodhpur Rural) assumed charge a month ago. Following the complaint, rumours of bribery for contract appointments began circulating in the district. Verification by the ACB confirmed that the bribe was demanded in the CMHO’s name. A 156-second video of the trap operation has also surfaced in which the accused doctor is heard telling ACB officers, "Write down the name of the MLA's son as well." ASP Chakravarti Singh says, "Tell me whatever you have to say when you are questioned and the notes are taken." He did not name any MLA in the video, but the statement could give a new direction to the investigation. It is currently unclear which MLA he was referring to, reports the ETV Bharat.

Director General Gupta mentioned that the ACB team is conducting a thorough investigation, and the CMHO may also be questioned as part of the inquiry. The incident has sparked concerns over corruption in contractual appointments in government health departments.
According to Patrika, interrogation and proceedings with the accused are ongoing under the supervision of Smita Srivastava, Additional Director General of Police, Anti-Corruption Bureau. The ACB will register a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act and investigate the matter, with further scrutiny into the roles of other potential suspects underway.
