"He was taken into custody by the Srinagar police on Thursday in connection with a case registered there," Bindal said.

He added that several people from J&K are currently employed at private nursing homes and hospitals in Saharanpur, and the local intelligence unit has been put on alert to verify their backgrounds.

Police sources said that the Srinagar police had recently registered a case after posters promoting Jaish-e-Mohammed were found in several parts of the city.

During the investigation, CCTV footage showed a man putting up the posters, who was later identified as a resident from Anantnag, they said, reports PTI.

The Jammu and Kashmir police had been tracking the accused and traced his location to Saharanpur. A Srinagar police team, with assistance from the local police and the Special Operations Group, raided the private hospital on Ambala Road and took him into custody, the police said.

He was later produced before a court, which granted his transit remand to the Srinagar police, who have taken him back for further investigation, they added.

Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that a major inter-state Fake Indian Currency Note (FICN) racket has been busted in Maharashtra’s Malegaon, leading to the arrest of two men and recovery of fake Rs 500 notes worth Rs 30 lakh. The police discovered that a suspended government doctor is the alleged mastermind behind the operation.
