Puri Doctor Found Dead in Suspected Suicide

Puri: In an unfortunate incident, a young doctor allegedly killed himself at his house located in the Penthakata area of the Puri district on Monday after reportedly incurring losses in lakhs in online gaming.

Preliminary investigation into the case indicates that he may have taken his own life by strangling himself with a bed sheet.

The deceased has been identified as a resident of Nalakanan village in ward no. 11 of Konark NAC. According to the news reports, the deceased doctor had recently visited his uncle's house in Penthakata. On Monday, his lifeless body was found at the residence under mysterious circumstances, suggesting suicide

Authorities suspect that financial distress stemming from heavy losses in online gaming could be a possible motive behind the unfortunate incident. The deceased doctor reportedly lost lakhs of rupees in online games.

The tragic incident has sparked concerns in the community, shedding light on the potential risks of excessive online gaming and financial distress.

According to KalingaTV, a police investigation of the case has been initiated. His body has been sent for autopsy. Further probe of the case is underway.
