Jabalpur: Asking the reason for withholding the result of a gynaecologist's assistant professor post, the Jabalpur bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court issued notices to the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Gandhi Medical College and principal secretary of medical education.

The order was given in response to a petition filed by Dr Renu Yadav of Rewa after her result for the assistant professor position at Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal, was withheld, prompting her to seek judicial intervention.

As per Free Press Journal report, Dr Renu approached the high court after his appointment to the position remained on hold as the result of the interview for the position was withheld even after the scrutiny committee giving a green signal.

Advocate Aditya Sanghi, representing the petitioner, explained that Dr Yadav had applied for the assistant professor role in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at GMC Bhopal under the 'OBC' category. He stated, "On March 7, 2024, the petitioner appeared before the scrutiny committee with all the necessary documents, which were duly verified and declared correct by the committee."

Sanghi continued, "Subsequently, the petitioner and other candidates underwent interviews, and the results were announced on March 11, 2024. While the results of the other two candidates were disclosed, Dr Yadav's result was withheld."

Despite the petitioner submitting a detailed representation on March 12, 2024, Sanghi highlighted that no response had been received regarding withholding her result.
