Mangaluru Doctor Loses Rs 4.2 Lakh in Overseas Job Scam

Mangaluru: In a shocking case of cyber fraud, a doctor from Mangaluru has reportedly lost Rs 4.20 lakh after falling victim to an elaborate online job scam promising a lucrative position at a hospital in Dubai.
According to the complaint registered at the Kankanady Town Police Station, the scam began on June 6 when the victim received a call from a woman who introduced herself as Sangeetha, claiming to be affiliated with NMC Hospital, Dubai. The caller informed the victim about a high-paying job opportunity and assured that detailed information would be shared via email.

Shortly after the call, the complainant received an email from support@thejobsswitch.com, outlining the supposed job role, benefits, and salary structure. This was followed by a phone call from a man named Vinay Singh, who requested a registration fee of Rs 5,499.
Trusting the legitimacy of the offer, the complainant made the payment on June 13.
