Medical Admission fraud: Court grants bail to 'doctor' who secured seat using forged marksheets
Mumbai: In a shocking discovery, marital disputes between a 32-year-old doctor and her now estranged husband recently revealed that the medical admission of the doctor from DY Patil University was secured on the basis of forged documents.
Although the police registered an FIR against the doctor for cheating and forging documents and ultimately arrested her, a Sessions court in Mumbai has granted bail to the doctor as it considered the fact that she has a three years old daughter.
Besides, the court also pointed out the fact that the doctor has cooperated in the investigation process and noted, "No further purpose would be served by keeping her behind bars..."
As per the latest media report by the Times of India, the matter came to light when the doctor filed a domestic violence case against her husband, who is now separated from her. They had got married in 2017, but they parted their ways back in 2020.
When the doctor alleged the domestic violence allegations against her estranged spouse, the husband in turn approached the police and filed a complaint, where he expressed his doubts regarding her qualifications.
Investigating on this complaint, police shockingly unearthed that the doctor had allegedly secured her medical seat at DY Patil University with the aid of forged marksheets.
Consequently, police registered an FIR against her for cheating and forging documents and arrested her. Two weeks after arrest, the sessions court granted bail to the doctor and noted, "The probe is in progress and the applicant has cooperated in the investigation... when called by the police... No further purpose would be served by keeping her behind bars..."
