Medical Officer stabs Junior Nursing Assistant, another at GMC Kathua; Suspended
Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Health and Medical Education Department has recently issued a suspension order for a Medical Officer at the Emergency Hospital (EH) Vijaypur with immediate effect after he was arrested for allegedly stabbing a junior nursing assistant and another person at Government Medical College (GMC) Kathua.
The suspension order issued on November 2, comes after Dr *** was held in custody for more than 48 hours in a stabbing case. According to recent media reports, the doctor attacked a junior nursing assistant posted at GMC Kathua and a resident of Kathua inside the hospital premises with a sharp-edged weapon on Thursday.
After the incident, both individuals who were injured were taken to GMC Kathua. The junior nursing assistant was promptly referred to a private hospital in Punjab due to critical injuries, while the other individual continued to receive treatment at GMC Kathua.

When the police were informed of the situation, they immediately reached the location and nabbed the doctor on the spot red-handed. Subsequently, a case was registered under Section 307 and other relevant sections, as per the Greater Kashmir news report.
