Jharsuguda: A doctor's vehicle has reportedly run over a minor girl at the Brajrajnagar-Jharsuguda NH-49. Many people blocked the doctor's vehicle at Gandhi-Chowk after the incident due to which the traffic on Brajrajnagar-Jharsuguda NH-49 came to a standstill.  

The Daily Pioneer reports that the mother of the child and the local people there went to the Brajrajnagar police station and demanded strong action against the doctor.

The mother laid the body of her daughter at the doorstep of the police station and eventually filed a complaint against the accused doctor. 

The protesting people called off their agitation after the police officials reached the accident spot, with the latter promising to take necessary action against the doctor. The road blockade was also eventually withdrawn, reports the Daily Pioneer. 

The deceased was identified as Tulasi Mahananda who is six years old, the daughter of Desh Mahananda and Pinki Mahananda of Shastrinagar village in Brajrajnagar town. Following her death, a sense of gloom had descended over the area.  

Medical Dialogues had earlier reported a similar accident report where a 27-year-old Malayalee doctor lost his life in a car accident that happened in Britain. The deceased was identified as Jyothis Manaliyil aka Joel, a resident in Liverpool and a native of Changanacherry, Kerala. Joel is the eldest son of the Jojapan-Jessie couple. His family was active members of the Syro – Malabar Catholic Community in Liverpool and the Liverpool Malayalee Association. The incident took place when Dr Joel who was working at Bolton Hospital in Liverpool, was returning from his work at night and accidentally crashed into the divider on the M – 6 motorway. His car caught on fire and unfortunately, he died in the car.
