Odisha doctor goes missing from hospital quarter, Maoist hand suspected
Malkangiri: In a shocking incident, a 29-year-old doctor posted at Kalimela Community Health Centre (CHC) went missing from his quarters on Saturday night. Police are currently investigating the incident and suspect that some unidentified miscreants abducted him.
According to the media reports, the doctor is suspected of being kidnapped by Maoists as some Maoist-related posters were found near his residence by the police. However, this has not been confirmed so far. It has been more than 24 hours since the doctor went missing and his whereabouts remain a mystery.
The doctor has been identified as Amlan Bhoi, a native of Kandhamal district. He joined the Kalimela CHC as a doctor in January this year.
The incident occurred at night when the doctor returned to his quarters at around 10 pm after completing his duty in the CHC. Since Sunday morning, he was found missing from his residence.

Subsequently, Bhoi informed the local police and the postmortem was conducted on Sunday.
Following this, the CDMO told The Daily that the doctor was not guilty of any wrongdoing in connection with the death of the female patient. According to the Daily source, it is suspected that the doctor's disappearance might be linked to the female patient's death as Sukma is a Maoist-infested district.
After receiving information about the doctor, his family members urged the senior police officials to conduct a detailed probe to locate their son. They have met the Kandhamal Collector and SP in Phulbani in this regard.
