Odisha Govt creates 2000 new Medical Officer posts

According to the order, 1500 LTRMOs will be hired for each of the 30 District Head Quarter Hospitals, 20 doctors for the Rourkela Government Hospitals, and 480 doctors for each of the 32 Sub Divisional Hospitals.

Bhubaneswar: The Health and Family welfare department of the Odisha government has created 2,000 posts of doctors for the peripheral health institutions of the state to provide adequate health service to the people of the state. 

An order issued by the state Health and Family Welfare department said the sanction of the Governor for the creation of 2,000 posts of Leave Training Reserve Medical Officers (LTRMO)in the rank of Group A (Junior Branch) of Odisha Medical and Health Services cadre has been obtained.

''I am directed to convoy the sanction of Governor for creation of 2000 (Two Thousand) posts of LTRMO in the rank of Group-A (Junior Branch) of Odisha Medical and Health Services (OMHS) Cadre in the scale of pay of level-12 of Pay Matrix of ORSP Rules, 2017 for the peripheral Health Services of the State as per the list given below to provide adequate health service to the people of the State," read the notification released by Odisha Health Commissioner-cum-Secretary Shalini Pandit.

According to the order, 1500 LTRMOs will be hired for each of the 30 District Head Quarter Hospitals, 20 doctors for the Rourkela Government Hospitals, and 480 doctors for each of the 32 Sub Divisional Hospitals.

The sub-divisional hospitals where the doctors will be appointed are— Athamallik, Pallahara, Talcher, Nilgiri, Patnagarha, Titilagarha, Padmapur, Athagarha, Banki, Hindol, Kamakhyanagar, Aska, Bhanjanagar, Chhatrapur, Hinjlicut, Dharmagarha, Baliguda, Anandpur, Champa, Pattamundai, Karanjia, Rairangpur, Udala, Chitrakonda, Mathili, Umerkote, Kharar, Gunnupuri, Kuchinda, Rairakhol, Birmaharajpur and Bonai.

Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has approved the appointment of 130 Assistant Professors of the Odisha Medical Education Service (OMES) Cadre in 9 Broad-Speciality disciplines. This approval was made on the basis of the recommendation of the Odisha Public Service Commission.
