SHO Behror Virendra Pal said a note was recovered from Manish Saini's diary in which he said he was unhappy with his life and therefore was ending his life. "He did not hold anyone responsible," the police official said.
The doctor also wrote in the seven-page suicide note in both Hindi and English that he became addicted to smoking and drinking and that before it destroys his home, it is better to end his life. The doctor wrote, "I am fed up with the failures in life. I am into excessive boozing and have become a liability." He wrote, "I am ending in your story, if possible please pardon me."
The incident came to the light when the doctor's colleagues knocked on the doctor's doors following which there was no response. A police team reached the residential flats located in the premises of private hospital at 6.30 am. Virendra Pal, in-charge of Behror police station told Times of India, "We reached at the spot and we found him unconscious. He was rushed to the government hospital in Alwar where he was declared brought dead."
Pal added, "He has asked his brother and father to sell off their parental land at Farookhnagar in Haryana to avoid social defamation after his suicide. No foul play is found since the door of the room in which he used to live was locked from inside. The family members have not suspected anything in this case."
The SHO said, "The deceased in the suicide note has not held anyone responsible for his step. He has stated that he failed to meet the expectations of family members, thus ended his life." He added, "No injury marks were found on the body and it is found that he has got a sedative injection which is usually given to the patients on ventilators. We have seized the injection and the injection bowl from the room."
The police have collected the viscera samples of the deceased for investigation, with Pal stating, "Prima facie it is clear case of suicide still we will also probe murder angle in our investigations." The doctor was scheduled to attend a meeting on Tuesday morning.
Saini, who looked after the administrative work at the Behror private hospital, was a resident of Gurugram in Haryana and the body was handed over to his family members after post-mortem.
